Default Caliper Grinding or swap?

So I have a 99 Camaro SS with 15x8 Jegs wheels on the rear. Everything fits perfectly except for when I spin the wheels it pulls the sticky weights off. As far as I can see at the moment I can either grind some off the calipers, replace with the LT1 rear brake setup (not really wanting to as it moves the caliper aft of the axle) or see if the wheel will accept lip mount clamp weights instead of stickies. Anyone have a similar issue that wants to weigh in? The entire 20 year old brake system on this car is getting replaced so nows the time to make this decision. Any help is appreciated.

I used an 5/16 spacer and grinded the calipers and had no trouble with my 15x8s

I dont really think the spacer willl do anything for me. The inside barrel of the rim is flat in that area and im already pretty flush with the outer fender. So i'll probably just buy a new set of ls1 rear calipers and grind them a bit.

I just went through that on mine. I put the weights as far in as possible on the curve of the wheel and a few of the weights just barely contacted the caliper. Some slight grinding made it clear fine. I really think with some skinnier weights, which they do make but I didn’t have time to retrieve, it would have probably cleared with no grinding. But I had to grind a little on the top side of the caliper anyway for my wheels to clear

When I originally built My car I did the lt1 brakes. It was a complete waste of money.

One of my favorite mods ever was doing aersopace brakes all around and a manual master. Mf stopped so good and it was 75lbs lighter for the brakes and another 20 or so to go manual master.

I put 7,000 miles on them that year. Never had an issue.

I could stop from 200mph pretty well without a chute.

Ill never mess around with brakes again. One of my favorite upgrades Ive ever done.

Forget about the external tire weights. Get some Tire weight beads, they come in plastic packs that are dropped into the tire when mounting to the wheel. The bag splits open once you drive it and the beads dynamically balance the wheel. Hope this helps.

I ground down the calipers with a right angle grinder. You will have a nice pile of aluminum when your done.

It wasn’t that bad to grind. I just did it this past weekend. I took a 60 grit sanding disc on a angle grinder and about 10f minutes per side and now the 15x10 fit nicely.
