fuel system upgrade a GO

I am heading out to LS1 Speed tonight. Hope to get there around noon tomorrow.
Larry is getting me an 8 gallon tank. I had a choice between a 6 gallon or a 14 gallon tank. 14 is too big for my taste and 6 is just too small for a *cough* street *cough*cough*/strip car. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Larry is getting me an 8 gallon special made tank which is just the right size for me.

October 1st my 10 point roll cage is being installed. I think I will need the 10 point cage ET wise and if I don't I will have an added comfort level for my saftey. I left this phase out of my post a week ago so the cage is phase 2.

Phase 3 engine install. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Phase 4 dyno tuning. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
Phase 5 shake down runs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Heya Tom! Is this the same style Tank as what's shown on their site (made by Charged Air Systems I believe)? Installs into the factory location using the OEM straps?

The 8 gallon tank sounds cool as hell! I agree that a 6 gallon would be a little on the small side...

I've thought about putting an 8-10 gallon fuel cell in my car, but it's just too much trouble to make it NHRA legal in a hatchback.

We installed the 14-gallon tank on a friend's car the other day.

BE FORWARNED...you exhaust will not fit back on the car if you use this tank. The sump hangs down just enough to interfere with the stock muffler location.

He ended up running a bullet off the y-pipe and that's it. No room to make anything work back by the tank.

Do have to admit the tank is very nice though.

Can't believe these guys are selling a bolt-in tank that won't even allow you to use factory exhaust locations. My weld-on sump interferes a bit, but still room for my loudmouth (no muffler back there).

Well, seems like with a little modification the 8 gallon tank allows the duel duel exhaust to fit. Thanks to Tom, Larry and Dan for the extra effort. Dan did the install. Thanks Dan. The new system looks great. Thanks alot LS1 Speed. You guys did a good job and I appriciate it.

Terry, 9's would be the iceing on the cake. With the new engine I would say 9's are not out of the question. As a matter of fact I hope to hit 9's on the shakedown runs. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> That would be cool <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
