I want in on some of this action.

Anyone want to race me?

Iam at the track every weekend and I think that I can pull the gears pretty good and for some reason I think I can cut a light also.

All I have is just a little 346 LS1 H/C M6 Hot Rod.

Ya bunch of pansys!

This is the race people have wanted to happen for two years now. Heads up with categories for bolt on cars wiht M6 and A4 and modified cars wiht them. And then there are the classes for us all out theft recoveries.

Come out and support heads up racing! Hey I'll be racing people like Madman and Stefan Destito. Im towing at least 12 hours in hopes that my car will keep up with those guys. Never know who is going to break.

As PSJ98hunterorangeformula said, sack up and race.

Tony, My guess is they had to make the break somewhere...and can't creat 40 different classes just to fit everyones car. I guess me and you are in the same situation. I'm on the small cube size for my class as I predict alot of big bore/stroker motors being there. Hey, its all for fun right. If it takes off I'm sure thunder will be able to make more classes..for more racers..for even better racing. But for now this is all we have. Its better than racing big block carbed chevys. Remember..those really fast cars have a better chance of breaking something...heheh....

As for autos vs Manual..a manual won the NFRA king of the street.Maybe thunder will have something of the same..like a quick 16 maybe so see whos got it.

Yep, its all for fun. Thats the only reason I'm going. That, and to smack around PSJ.....again! haha

Maybe by next year I'll have a TH350 and join "Team Theft Recovery" just to be competitive

I think a true-street, DOT tire class would be kick *** for LS1s, to showcase how streetable some of our setups really are.

Like Tim Said we had to make the break somewhere. It good for some and not so good for others. I can tell you this though; no one car was considered when making the classes. This is only the first race and if we get enough support from everyone out there it will be a 2 day event and maybe even 2 different events next year. At that point, with more cars involved and more time, we can have more classes to try and make the racing even better. We can't please everyone but we tried to do the best job possible with the one day that we could get the track.

If people feel that they can't be competitive in the heads up class then run the bracket class. Just come out, race and have fun!!!!!!

I don't even think Joe is racing so how can that be a valid point. Yes Joe had a hand in making the classes but he wasn't the only one involved. We did the rules as best we could for a first time race. Of course there will be rule changes for next year. Something just have to evolve. Slower cars sometimes have to race faster cars sometimes and things are not alway equal. Just be a better driver and that will make up for a lot.

Now I got that off my chest.

Hmmm I think you need to work on that language Paul, not sure how using that word help you with your point.

Reality is that all 382ci or bigger LS1 stuff is pretty darn fast. Throw in a solid roller and the 382ci is now on par with a bigger cube motor.

Based on the rules, I can run a sheet metal intake and collector mufflers in Pro Stock so maybe I'll try some new stuff again.

PSJ do you remember a little conversation in Englishtown about you and our parts truck????? Well I'm bringing the truck to tow my BITCH around so I can unhook the tow strap and we can do it for the same $$$$$ we discussed in Englishtown.

I think its time for everyone to get a reality check. If you built your car to a specific class then THATS when you're going to be competitive. I don't think very many guys here are "Class" Racers in the Headsup world.

All the bickering ove rules is what will squash a great race like this. If this year goes well, I'm considering hauling my operation all the way down there next year.... But if this bickering keeps up, this will probably end up just like the NFRA.

The nearest decent Headsup Racing organization for me is the PSCA. I've built my car in a way I wanted to. And as such, some of my parts selection has placed me into classes that I'm greatly outgunned. (Fogger and aftermarket Injection being main problems) Oh well. If I built my car to be competitive in a specific class then its different. Did you build YOUR cars tto win at THIS race? I didn't think so. I see this as an ENTHUSIAST's event. Not a RACER's event. Go have fun, and enjoy some freindly competition.

Sorry to **** in a few guys Cheerios.

My point is that you are accusing us of designing a class for a specific person that most likely isn't even gonna be racing. I take offence to that, hence my attitude. So what your answer to that????

PSJ The truck is running great. Been driving it all over Houston chasing parts.

All the complaining about the rules is mute at this point. Its to close to the race so show up and race THEN tell the rules guys what you would like changed. Do you think I want to add 300lbs to run P/O??? No but I've got the weight bars built and they will be in.

By the way the car has a full interior not "Theft Recovered".

Paul....I think the point John is trying to make is that there is no heads up class where the typical heads and cam car can be competitive. Either you mod the heck out of your car and run with the big boys, or your stuck running in the brackets. Most people would rather run in heads up with some even competition. I hate brackets. Only thing they prove is that you have good reflexes and a consistent car. Racing is meant to be all-out with no clock watching IMO

Now kiss and make up guys

Good point Bri, that would be like showing up at a event and then yowling because you can't run a W tire [/smack]

Kurt, that vid conveniently cuts off before we see the clocks. That ragtop in the other lane is owned by Scott Sullivan and he just called and told me that he broke his driveshaft off the line on that run and did not finish.. [/smack]

Paul, I bet your car is <400ci. [/thwack]

That's just total BS and I'm sure stems from Joe's and PSJ's little tiffs. I know the rules are not perfect and they will be modified a good deal for next year but we are way too close to race time to make any rule changes now.
