always run tubes in slicks?/

you guys always run tubes in slicks like e.t. drags? i had a pair before, but never had them off the rims since i bought them used.

Tubes are not needed.Save the money and the weight off of the car.

I have tubes in my slicks.I got a pin hole in one and had to tube them.Funny thing is the car feels even more stable up top now?I dont like the 9lbs Ive gained but now if I run them at 11psi the car seems better on the big end?

I guess 9lbs isnt the end of the world on the rear of the car?I like them and will continue to run them...

I was told by Kevin Helms not to run tubes. He runs a stick S/E Hot Rod and is the NHRA 2002 division 4 Stock Elim. Champion and he is #1 in the NHRA 2002 National S/E points championship right now. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Generally the manual transmission cars benefit from tubes because they absorb some of the intial shock. It's been said that a4's (to a degree) do not hit the tires hard enough to warrant them. I would stay away from them because of the added rotating weight.
