If crossing the line at too low of an RPM (like you are) 28s are a bad idea...especially if you can hook with 26s.

28s definitely have their place where extra traction is needed. Most people make the mistake of not gearing the car properly for the taller tires. I'm running 29s not but due to my trap speed and gearing, they work great for me. I'll may be going to a 30" tire when I get the 5.13s installed. That is only if and when I see that I need to lower the trap RPM a little.

Why the heck would you go to a 3.89 gear if you're undergeared (crossing too low) now? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

I think you should consider throwing in a set of 98 or 2001 injectors and a flash from one of those PCMs and start tuning over again.

Also you mentioned doing the 3 inch Y with dual cutouts and a quiet catback. I think that is a great idea.
I would do the Ypipe, catback and injector swap, 26 inch slicks at the same time, reflash and retune the car on the dyno.

Then you wont need to worry about injector
scaling and all that ****.
Run a stock descreened MAF and just set your AF to where you want it and your timing. Then look at setting shiftpoints etc.
Easy as pie. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Good luck,
Chris

I am never trapping above 6200 it's usually like 6100.

I think I can hook a 26x10.5x15 slick heck I over hook now I can get the front end up a foot on a 1.59!

Alex, last run, we decided to look at the pcm shift points at a later date and not to flog the car anymore... We ran it 6 times and two of those runs were messed up due to the 1-2 bog.

by the way john, those are some bad *** pics. nice quality too. i believe you are hooking too hard and bogging the motor down (though i am not there) just figure from your short times overall times and looking at the tire disappear in the pics it is hooking so hard. we all know 2-3 revolutions of spin is perfect. what do you footstall that thing too? just off of idle? must be a good track!

There is no such thing as hooking too hard with an automatic. Sure, with an M6 you might cause a bog but the TQ converter takes care of that with the auto.

0.0 revolutions of spin is perfect.
