Default People who have relocated their batteries

Where did you put your battery?

What type of mounting system did you use?

Where did you route the wiring?

Do you have any pictures?

Have you been booted out of any tracks?

make any difference in your ET?

thanks

I did pretty much the same. Except I didn't bolt my cutoff switch beneath a license plate cover. I'm using a push pull handle instead. Box is where the spare tire goes. Here are some pics.

What type of mounting system did you use?
Summit aluminum sealed battery box.

Where did you route the wiring?
Underneath the car along the subframes, up the wheel well to the fuse box. Others run it along the interior floor to the firewall below the PCM. Just depends on your situation.

Have you been booted out of any tracks?
Nope.

make any difference in your ET?
I'd like to say about 4 seconds, but in reality it makes no significant difference.

Thank you very much. That's extremely helpful.

I had previously thought about putting it in the spare tire well but this location looks promising as well. I wouldn't have to move my nitrous bottle if my battery went there.

Either place I have some very good examples to copy.

Derty: Did you use welding cable?Stinger battery connections?

What size are your batteries? Mines :10x7x8 roughly. Dual post Yellow top Optima..

Damn thing weights 44lbs.... I didn't know that when I bought it. The red top is 10lbs lighter. I might have to stick this in the wifes car and get a red top.

Mine is a dual post Red top. It fits in a small Summit sealed box. I did use 2ga welding cable as well as some 1/0 for the ground. Yes they are audio (Stinger) terminals, but a simple clamp type would be more then adequate. I just used what I had in the garage.

hey whats wrong with my switch.

i have it like that so none of my ******** friends can mess with it when teh car is out. i pull that smoked cover off before i hit the track so the switch is accessible.

i just used some 2 dollar standard clamps on the posts of my redtop, got em at pepboys.

Hey I liked that switch setup! Not the normal push/pull.

Where is it ? I don't see it in the pics you posted.

I would rather have it so my switch is not readily accessible at all times. I can see some jagoff I know switching me off at a gas station or a stop light.

Yeah, you mean that huge picture of the license plate?

I'm running a 1024x768 resolution and I didn't scroll the screen to the right at all. I totally missed that.
