How do you move the LCAs in anyway? Do you have to cut the mount off of the rear end and move it in and then fabricate something on the bottom of the car??

Im just curious is why I ask. Not trying to stir the pot.

All you do is move the LCA to the other side of the frame where it bolts in, and re-weld a factory bracket on the housing.

let's compare apples to apples, this is no comparison between the MM and ARE setups. I have seen both cars and we have all read the about the build-ups, to me it is like a tube chassis / SBC Pro Stocker calling me out.

What the **** are you talking about? Tube chassis?

Car is factory dash, factory interior, factory everything in the car. STOCK lower control arm mounting holes, STOCK shock mounts, STOCK spring locations.

Where's the tube chassis? 3204lb kickin' ARE ***!

The new name should be "where A.R.E. U"?????

Congrats to ARE for being the fastest LS1.

This IS an LS1 site, right????? There are other F-body sites that may tally the aftermarket cars a little better.

I'm real impressed with anyone running 8's, but egging on ARE into a race with their LS1 car is REDICULOUS!!

Once again, hats off to ARE.

been there since Nov. '99

just didn't know if there was a site that was for a more advanced racer type board. like how this site is for the more advanced than ls1.com is

This **** is alllll tooooo funny...have ya'll read this thread or have ya'll just grabbed hold of Wade's sac and started suckin??

1st. APPLES TO APPLES is BOTH motors make the same HP...1 is just plain and simply more reliable and not prone to start leaking coolant thru cracks in the cylinder walls.

2nd. APPLES TO APPLES both cars run a stock style suspension and that is what this thread was about...not who can build motors, but who can go the fastest on a stock style 4th gen suspension.

Now all of ya'll talkin bout "Get an LS1 and I'll be impressed" go tell Colonel that when he brings out his C5R monster...and about 1/2 a dozen others that simply like to go fast w/out having to worry about rebuilding their motors every other week. Untill the sleeving process is perfected (Which MTI/Thunder/ARE HAVE NOT ACCOMPLISHED) then what is wrong w/someone taking a motor that is reliable and putting it in a 4th gen body to test the limits of the chassis and suspension??

But, it's just whatever, man. I've never even seen Wade in person, nor his car, nor been anywhere near Canada even. Nor have I ever even received services or products or anything at all from ARE. Just taking a truly neutral position and assessing the situation we've got here. Merely disagreeing with your position on the subject doesn't make everyone who does so a "sack-sucker." Here's the situation as I see it...tell me where I'm wrong or where I've left anything out.

1) ARE becomes the first 4th generation F-Body with stock suspension in the 8's
2) Brian is slightly frustrated (and rightly so) because he knows the car he is building is just as fast, if not faster (which turns out to be the case for now) than Wade's car
3) Brian calls out ARE to a friendly race (I didn't see anything wrong with the way he handled himself BEFORE he surpassed Wade's ET/MPH today)
4) ARE says they'd like to race and will try to make the trip
5) During the week before the shootout, ARE clearly states they can't make the trip
6) Shootout - Brian beats Wade's previous ET/MPH (I don't think many doubted he could)
7) Brian (whether inebriated or sober) makes several arrogant, uncalled-for, and just plain rude comments about his inargueably awesome accomplishment
8) And now we're stuck with this debate

Does that cover it, or not?

If I was not someone up at the shop all the time and didn't get my hands dirty working up there and posted like I do then I would definatly be suckin some major sac...but I don't see how taking up for my own work and a close personal friend is sucking sac...that's my point.

About Brians "Harsh Lanquage" I'm still tryin to find it..."COME GETYA SUM"...that's harsh???? He NEVER was harsh to Wade and those guys..he went off on the other guys bashing him for not having an LS1...he's gone all over the country to race where he's been called out by Baxter and the likes of...why is it that he can't call ARE out to a race to see who's car can make it to the end of the track faster??????????
