Default 26 10.5 16 et street air pressure?

What do you guys usually run yours at? Last night I was at 18 psi I did a good burnout, and the slicks spun for about 10 ft leaving the line @ 2000 rpm.
Is the air too high or could it have been the track prep?

I've had to vary mine from 25 to 16 psi to hold depending on track prep, temperature and amount of fuel in my tank. It takes trail and error to determine.

I am in TX and it has been in the 80s here at night and humid as hell. Would you say colder temp less air or hotter temp less air in the tires?

Yes, colder temperatures less air. At least that's my experience at the track. Tires and track are warmer in hot weather and will hold better so you can run more air.

More air is less drag so you want the pressure as high as will hold traction.

Thanks, maybe that was my problem. I will not change anything for next week and see what happens trying like 22 psi first and go from there.

I run 10-12 psi and pull the wheels cutting a 1.56-1.59 60ft with E.T. streets.First off ,do a short spin in the water then pull forward 4 feet and do a good smokey burn out.Your gonna need to launch at 4500 for starters cause your car is gonna hook so hard it will fall on it's face.Hope you have a good rear and clutch before you do this.I have run this tire psi for the past 5 years so dont let anyone tell you that the tire psi is too low.If you wanna hook thats what you have to do.

Just like Larry said, run the most psi you can while still holding traction. More pressure = less drag and better big end numbers.
