Good laugh
Good laugh Just thought I would share a funny yet sad experience with you from the local 1/8 from Fri. My car is stock with the exception of the TCI SSF3500 I just installed. When I bought my Z 3 mo.'s ago, someone had put LT1Z28 wheels on it with 215/60/16 tires, when they traded it in. I have ran a best of 8.76 till friday, and with my converter I ran a best 9.00. 
Talking about tire spin. Without the converter I would usually pull about 2.05 60's but now its virtually impossible to get anything better than a 2.20. Just as a side note, I know from past experience that I could get about 1700 RPM worth of stall out of an LS1, but with my factory Z's conv. the most I could usually get was about 1400. Anyway, I knew it would be a challenge to hook, but HOLY CRAP it was actually pretty funny. Time for some sticky's.

Yeah, I guess it is sad that I'm not any better than that, but, but(here come the excuses) I did only get two runs, the track was terribly slick, it was about 58 F with little to no prep on the track. And again, I'm not sure but I dont think there are too many people that have tried launching a stalled LS1 In the above mentioned conditions on 215 tires. I'm sure I could have gotten it better with more runs but the track was packed. I did let 2 other friends drive with results of 9.30 and 9.10 so I wasn't the only ignorant one there that night. And just for the record, I wasn't just going out & stomping it, I actually brought it up to 1,000 and eased into it, it just wouldn't hook!
Thanks Colonel, I really didn't think it would be as bad as it was, but I guess with the combination of the cool weather, small tires and no track prep it was just the perfect recipe for tire spin. Time for some stick.
