Default New best in my 3600# slug

Went to cecil county dragway last night...

Not 100% sure of the weather conditions but they were pretty decent (will investigate later and update this post)

Anyhow after playing with my launch rpm (2 step) and tire pressure I got 2 decent runs in:

11.379 @ 122.0 (1.64)
11.390 @ 121.9 (1.65)

Not too shabby for a full interior (including back seats) M6 346 cid car eh?

I know there is some more in the 60-foot but the track conditions were iffy from all the ricers/crap dragging water onto the line

oh well

What kind of tires are you using and how did you launch?

Sweet runs! you are gonna be bumping tens with a lil weight reduction and better 60(if not in the 10's).

In preparation for racing saturday I've decided to make a few changes

1) There may be a concern with the preload on my lifters being too tight. I'm going to double check them (per GTPs advice) and loosen them as necessary to make sure valves aren't hanging open at higher rpms

2) Front end alignment. My front end has a really screwy alignment since I added a tubular k-member LOL I never had an alignment done since that

3) Weight reduction. Time to put the pig on a diet for one day of racing The following will be done for Saturday

-!Passenger Seat
-!Back seat
-!Hatch speaker panel
-!Hatch cover
-!Carpet
-!Center console
-!Borla rear sectoin
-!T-top holder
-!some remaining brackets from the front swaybar
-!Airpump
-!Monsoon amp
-!Drain windshield resevoir

I figure approximately 150 lbs here to come off.

Also hoping for a loss of a tenth off the 60-foot with 1) a lighter car and 2) with a better prepped track (they prep like mad on saturdays)

Hoping for 11.0x

my personal best advice, if you can lose weight, do it (car or person, or in some cases both!!) I lost 50 pounds (thanks to weight watchers), and the car responded a half-tenth quicker! Always nice to run faster without laying out the green stuff
