Default Results in:Hoosier Drag 26x9 Vs. ET Street 26x10.5

I got to do some test runs today with a buddies Hoosier 26x9x15 Drags Vs. my 26x10.5x15 ET Street. My two runs with the hoosier were 11.88@114.0 with both 1.64 60fts. The runs after that with the ET Street were 11.83/11.85@114.20s with 1.64 60fts. It looks to me that the Hoosiers 60fts. felt softer and i lost some tad bit of ET and MPH on the very topend of the track over my ET Streets.

Today the temps were in the lower 80s with the Baro. 29.7 falling with 60% humidity. This weather sucked for being the first of November and all i could run today was a 11.82@115.75 with a slight tail wind but back that up with a 11.83@114.7x with no wind. Maybe in 2 weeks i can get a upper 40 degree air run and snap my dry spell of being stuck at 11.69

Now try a ET drag, and see the dif. IN my experiment, we used a Hoosier QTP 26x11, and a ET Drag 26x10.

Results H= 1.50 60'
ET= 1.44

Were you running the same air pressure in both?

The Hoosier slicks will give better traction. On a track that is not prepped very well the Hoosier will win!

11.88 to 11.85 is not a lot of difference. Most cars run that much difference from one run to the next. Good info though.

Scott. If you and I both can make it to RRR next weekend I will be more than willing to let you try my ET drag 26x10.5 for comparison against your streets.

those were still good runs in that temp. I told ya to come to TCD Friday.

I ran both tires at 16psi that way i could get a good solid comparison on them. I guess i was wanting better 60fts. and i did not get them but i guess next time i go (11/23) i'll try them again because my buddy is wanting to see if the Streets will hold up to his M6 (cam,bolt ons,9in with 4.10s). The M6 cars will most likely benifit more with the hoosier's because the sidewall is softer and will allow more shock over the ET Street.

I've actually noticed the same thing. I did the same switch to the Hoosier and lost a little...

BUT.. The slicks do require a different driving technique. I'm still practicing with mine.. But I think once a find they're sweet spot my car will go faster on them... not to mention more consistent. Been 1.54 on them so far Practicing is fun

I usually run the 26x10.5x15 ET Streets with a best '60 of 1.59. I ran the 26x9x15 Hoosier slicks without tubes, and ran the same times. The main difference being that with the Hoosiers, I never had to go any lower than 15lbs and my 60' times were much more consistent. I frequently had to go as low as 11-12lbs with the ET Streets. My next tire of choice will be either the 26x9 or 28x9 Hoosiers.

When comparing slicks always use new ones. You can take a set of brand new slicks, sit 'em outside for a few months and their traction won't be even close to what it would have been new. They dry out quickly in the sun.
