Carlsbad 11/30, who wants to race? :) Last track day @ Carlsbad for 2002. I'll be out there hunting for mid 10s. Anyone want to come race??

Re: Carlsbad 11/30, who wants to race? :) I had to grind down the brake caliper with a file and run spacers. Don't bother with tubes or screws. If you need those you can always add them later. Is your clutch working better now?

Re: Carlsbad 11/30, who wants to race? :) lol who said it was bullet proof? I believe its as strong as anyone else's 4L60E rebuild. My problem is it shifts 2->3 around 1200rpm late, and the lockup feature on my TCOM is acting inconsistently. If I don't lock the converter up I run out of gear at the top end.
I'm going to find myself a budget TH350 (no brake, 9" tailshaft) and try to set it up so it shifts itself @6800rpm. I don't want to put an aftermarket shifter in the car, and I like the idea of using the stock 4L60E tailshaft, torque arm mount, and stock driveshaft. With 3.23s I'll give up some first gear, but its about the same on the highway as the 4L60E/4.10s.
PS. I had the late shift problem before the rebuild.

Re: Carlsbad 11/30, who wants to race? :) Nothing great to report, I was having drivetrain and traction problems all day. I did manage a new MPH best of 129.4.
I think I've had enough with the 4L60E, I'm going to try out a 2.75 1st TH350 w/ 3.23 gears out back, probably use a TP4200 size stall.

Re: Carlsbad 11/30, who wants to race? :) I think the best solution is to get a motor that makes less power! I am sure that you could work out the problems with the tranny if you really wanted to. Sounds like you really want to put a TH350 in it. Just gonna make it a little bit harder to call her a street car.
