Hey Bob, whats up. I think as long as the intake isnt touched like ported or polished it would be considered a bolt on. i have the 01 so i didnt have to change to a LS6 intake. Looks like im going to need that 12 bolt to keep up with you now for sure. what is going on in BG? i may be in Kentucky for that time frame.

Hey Bob, looks like the cobra is flying Very impressive for 281 cubes. An intake swap from another year model is fine. Just nothing that touches oil. I plan on giving the 10's a shot next spring. I'm adding a coan 3sp trans and losing at least another 100-150lbs along with alot of chassis work. I'll keep it internally stock untill my turbo/stroker motor comes together. Good luck !!

Alan's right, I won't be internally stock by the end of May.
I'll probably just have a cam(maybe N2O)maybe heads.
My plans as of now are-
cam(springs ,push rods,ect)
oil pump
timing chain
injectors
fuel pump(for juice later)
tuning
cage
redoing the exhaust

Probably in February.
But plans change.

I hope to see you guys there.(c'mon Bob. )

Hehe...."Bolt-on King of the Hill" perhaps?

Just keep them pesky 03 Cobra's out of it, and we'll be ok.

I could run brackets I suppose, though that is the weekend after World Ford Challenge in St. Louis, and I'm not sure I'll be up to taking another trip. We'll see....would be fun for sure!

Joe...I do agree it would be fun to meet up and race. This internet thing is a good distraction, but the track is where its at.

As for the heads...you are correct, I was going to remove them in preparation for the 2003 NMRA F/S season. Valve jobs and milling are legal in that class, and to try and be competitive, I had made the decision to go that route (which, as you correctly point out, would have axed the "stock internal" moniker). However, my new assignment (I'm active USN) prevents me from making enough races to be competitive in the points chase, so I'm going to forgo that route, and do things that will require less time and a less stringent schedule.

I'm beginning to wonder if he really exists or not. What a testament it is to Bob and his car that even with his extra cam, he is actually contending with and beating some of the fastest similarly-modded LS1's, yeah, the ones with 65 more cubes.

Bob, I agree that we should leave out the '03 Cobras. Which board are you having trouble on right now? Are you starting the fires or trying to put them out?

bob, sounds like you need to drop an ls1 in the cobra like we talked about. it would save you less of a headache trying to play by ls1 stock internal rules. im not sure if you have seen it or not but saturdays at vmp there is a white early 90's style mustang with a 350 small block chevy and on the back glass it has a white chevy bowtie and in the center of the bowtie it says phony pony .

Hey Bob.... In another thread you said you were removing the heads.... If it's stock internals what's that all about???? Five angle valve jobs and head milling is not stock internals... I've got a better deal... Why don't ya'll meet up and race... That would be fun to watch.
