Colonel - Where can I check out the line of TCs for our Ls1s.. My ST3500 is starting to have some locking and unlocking issues and I have been looking to Yank, but their converters are soo expensive compared to the TCI.

I was looking in JEGS and saw the TCI Converters. They only had one listed for the 4L60E/LS1 vehicle. It says its the Street Fighter. Is this the one which you ordered??

Where else can I buy these converters?

Thanks Colonel..

By the way, congrats on your times

Hey Colonel,do you know your exact race weight?I'm 2002Z on the list and before my gear change, deleting TM,and weight reduction I ran 11.73@114 (1.57)60ft w/273s 3575 race weight. That TCI converter sure seems to be a big bang for the buck.Good luck with those 1.5 60ft marks,as it should be possible with 323s,ET streets and maybe some skinnies.

It should be made known that this isn't a "off-the-shelf" converter... but even with that said, it definetly has potential! Once again, great job!

Well, looking at that current list I can't tell what people used to do. All I can do is look at the top 50 and currently there aren't any that match that criteria, so that kinda tells me that at least not everyone and their brother is running these times under these conditions as some hatas in this thread might suggest.

About the converter lockup problems being tuning issues....I don't know about that. I had the same problem with %100 stock tuning on my '02 with my Yank 2400. I had it on the '00 as well with my TP4600. With the same tuning it didn't do it with the SY3500 nor some of the other converters in that car. IMO it's a clutch issue.

Jeggs and Summit are TCI's biggest customers.

The one I have is the Super Street Fighter. I believe the Street Fighter is a 3000 stall.

I heard a rumor that TCI might become a sponsor of LS1Tech pretty soon and that there may soon thereafter be talks of GPs.

Colonel: Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what RPM were you launching at on your best 60-foot runs? I just got this same converter installed in my car this week... Can't wait to try it out after reading your exploits!

It does it with a tci 3500. That's awesome that it is cheaper than the competition. I just think some of these people here are ridiculous by hangin on your nuts like they do.

...And, you let that bother you? I mean, what's it to you?

Personally, I don't see anyone "hanging on anyone's nuts", as you so eloquently put it. I see polite, enthusiastic, cordial and curious people congratulating a fellow LS1 enthusiast on his good times and asking a few questions about the car and subject at hand, which is an affordable converter that is now well proven to work. But even if I did see what I thought to be nuthangers (I just read through the thread again and I just don't see it by any stretch of the imagination, but perhaps your imagination is far bigger than mine) I think I'd just keep my mouth shut unless I had something nice to say, elsewise I might look like just another jealous troll with low self asteem looking for attention...someone who tries to make theirself feel better about their unfulfilling existence by attempting to pull positive thinking people down. ...Surely that's not the case with you at all but if it were me I'd hate for folks to get the wrong impression.

Anyway, your distaste for what you perceive to be nuthangers is duly noted and I'm sure it will serve of some importance to someone who gives a damn.

Take it how you want to. Maybe you are blind to it. Other's see it and don't say a word about it. I felt like somebody should point it out. These TCI threads from you have been half advertisements.

Colonel, are you considering trying a yank convertor of comparable size to this tci?
A Yank SS3600? A Yank ST3500?

I think its great that a 500 dollar convertor can run a good number. I'd just like to see how it does when tested against others instead of simply seeing how it does. Is there any chance of this?

I think for every 500 in DA you drop you gain like 2%HP. Not sure if that is correct though. If it is he was making about 45HP more than normal.
