approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto I was just wondering approximately how many passes you get on BFG radials and how many on Nittos. Now I know it all depends how long you burn out and stuff but I was just looking for a ballpark figure. Also, I've been doing some searching and it seems as though the BFG are the best DRs if you aren't going to use them on the street (which I will be doing - dedicated drag wheels). Which would you suggest for the 16'' wheel?

Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto I cant tell you how many runs i got out of my nittos but i just took them of the car and i got about 22000 miles out of them with many runs at the track and even more on the street.I had 315 35 17 and i liked them.
Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto Love the Nittos for street/strip duty, but if you're going to change wheels at the track, then go with the BFGs. They have a slightly softer compound, and a semi slick area in the middle of the contact patch.
Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto Lo - the idea would be to put the tires on 5 minutes before heading to the track, then racing, then coming home and taking them off. I won't be changing them at the track but close enough.

Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto Let me refine my question one more time now that I'm thinking about it again - how many more passes would you get out of nittos vs. BFGs considering only track use and say an hour drive to the track. Basically would you get twice as many runs out of nittos as BFGs?

Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto I have 63 timeslips and unknown how many Ive lost or not gotten since Ive had BFG's and I DO get them warm (burn um pretty good) at first I did drive these tires every day but they do wear fast so now theyre on dedicated wheels - If you want a better hooking tire no doubt the BFG's win hands down, if you want OK hooking and longer live the nittos win...

Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto I almost never drove my BFG's on the street. At the track, I did burnouts just like a slick. I liked to start with the BFG's arlready worn down quite a bit, and from that point, could get probably 40-50 passes out of them.
Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto I was using Nittos before I got like 60 + passes on them wiht john force looking burnouts.I just picked up some BFG`s and I dont think they hook as well as the nittos.I havent been to the track with the bfg`s but on the street i like the 1.61-1.65 60fts from the 245/50/16 nittos better. Dont think ill see that from the bfg`s.So i wont recomend them . Hope that helps

Since car got into 12.s can probably cut that # in half,need more burnout.

Re: approximate # of passes on BFG or nitto All depends on length of your burnout I race at rt66 and track prep is awesome i have over 250 passes on these tires and have probly 1/3 of the tread left car runs 12.6 with a 1.82 60foot on a a4.
