10.59@128.68, 1.43 60' - 346ci 6-speed ALL MOTOR!
I was able to head out to NPR this evening for some shakedown passes with my new setup. The weather was overcast all day, with showers in the area, so I wasn't expecting to make many runs tonight.
Since I was in a hurry to get some runs in before the rain came, I didn't worry about dropping the y-pipe and just ran through the cutout. I swapped tires and headed to the starting line. Since there wasn't many people out there, I pulled right around and did a nice burnout on my new 28" M/T ET Drags. This resulted in:
60' ... 1.573
1/8 ... 6.969
mph ... 100.89
1/4 ... 10.825
mph ... 127.90
Since someone oiled down the left lane and the weather was still cooperating, I decided to head to the pits and drop the y-pipe and run the collector extensions on the headers. After about a 30 minute delay, I was able to make another pass leaving at 5k rpms:
60' ... 1.554
1/8 ... 6.917
mph ... 101.87
1/4 ... 10.741
mph ... 128.98
Holy crap!! Almost 129 mph!! I knew there was alot left in the car since it was spinning pretty bad off the line. I played around with tire pressure and made another 10.74@128.xx (1.54 60') pass, but was still spinning pretty bad off the line. I raced Allan from Futral Motorsports on that pass. Needless to say, he sprayed this $hit out of me. lol 10.09@136 to my 10.74 pass with just a 150 shot! He had his 346ci 6-speed car hauling *** too tonight.
I decided to drop the tire pressure down to 13.5psi hot and give it a shot in the left lane. Frank95z was out there now helping me find the best groove on the starting line. This helped a bunch and I was able to turn a 1.49' 60', but I missed 3rd gear.
At this point, I knew the car at a 10.6x in it if I could get it to hook and make a clean pass. I rolled around for another pass and decided to leave a little harder (5500rpms). The pass felt good and I didn't miss a gear this time.
60' ... 1.518
1/8 ... 6.832
mph ... 101.86
1/4 ... 10.659
mph ... 128.63
10.65 was what I was shooting for, but I sure as heck didn't plan on reaching it on only the 5th pass. lol The car liked the extra launch rpm. It spun a little, but accelerated hard through the 60'.
I only had time to make one more pass before heading home. The car still had more left in it, but I had to get the car to leave harder. I decided to go for broke on the last run. I was already on Cloud 9 from the 10.65 pass, so I felt I didn't have anything to loose. I left a little under 6k rpms and I felt the wheels come WAY up. I hit each gear very well and knew it was good pass.
60' ... 1.439
1/8 ... 6.773
mph ... 101.87
1/4 ... 10.599
mph ... 128.68
Needless to say, I screamed my head off the entire ride back to the pits. lol I honesly didn't think the car had a .5x in it tonight considering the air really wasn't that great. 60' does wonders for ET though. lol
Here is a video of the 10.65 pass and the timeslip from the 10.59 pass:
10.65 pass
10.74 pass
10.59 timeslip
The camera was dead for the final pass, so I wasn't able to get that one on tape.
Who ever said you needed a big motor to go fast? lol
Density altitude was -339' and raceweight was ~3325lbs. I'm going to get an exact weight in the next few weeks.
For those who didn't see my post in the internal engine section, here is a quick run down of mods on the car:
https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...c;f=1;t=010700
Big thanks to Geoff@Thunder for helping me get this setup put together. Also, thanks to Frank95Z and Allan@Futral Motorsports for their help tonight getting the suspension sorted out. I can't forget to thank John(john00V6A4) and Jonathan (JonathanE30///M3) for the help getting the 5-point harness in last night at 2am and for filming today.
I'm going to be racing Sunday at NPR again for the Cajun Streetcar Nationals.
I drove the car to school today, drove it to the track, ran a 10.59, and drove it home. It doesn't get much better than that.

OMG Thats Nuts Jason. I am speachless.. Congrades to run 10.50's out the first night is awesome. I guess Solid roller is the way to go . I need to get my butt in gear and get a motor in my car. So are you still running the 4.33 gears with the 28 slicks If so what RPM's are you crossing the traps at?
Congrads again you have a winner there

Jason,
Man, those are some VERY impressive numbers! Congrats. I'm sure you're one proud man. When you see that kind of performance it makes all of that time waiting for parts, all of the blood, sweat, tears, and skinned knuckles worth it.
Heres to you!!
