Even though the weather was diappointing we all had a great time yesterday. We had two customer cars there... took 1st in the bolt-on (A4 - 11.91) and 3rd in the cam only class (M6 - 12.5x).

The cammed car went home slightly injured. We pulled the valve cover after our 3rd run and the #7 intake spring (918) was able to be compressed by hand. The rocker arm was ready to completely come apart. We would like to thank Cartek for going out of their way to try and locate us a new rocker arm. They were willing to tear into one of their cars to get one for us but due to the spring being so weak it wasn't worth it. We just pulled the pushrod.

BTW... the Cartek cars were running the #s. Very impressive!

We definitely are looking forward to next year!

Tim

Hey tim,
how did you get in the cam only class?
They wouldnt let me in, because they didnt believe
I had stock heads. My best motor run has been a 11.85
with the cam only. Do you know what won it?

ok so you say the air was bad this weekend? the track is just about at sea level and it is winter time in florida. no way is the air BAD. maybe not as good as some times. i still say the 122 mph is not good for 470 RWHP at their raceweights. i would look to see 126 easily with the florida air. what happened?

Na it was pretty muggy out, humidity had to be close to 100%. But all of us from down here seemed to be about right on our usuall mph. maybee 1 mph slower.

I have to agree with MechMan on all was running their usual mph that lives in Florida.. Maybe we need to go up north to pick up 3 to 4 mph.. One of the local guys was running his consistent 122mph all day. Maybe it is just Florida.. Our dynos are low and our mph is low..

How is this so hard to understand?
Are you actually questioning the validity of Mark's (10.80@127.44) and Brent's (10.86@126.83) times from Atco during the past 3 months? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

Gator/Fly u guys arent too bright are ya...

1st.
Cartek didnt bring any of the S2XREV packages down to FL.

2nd.
They ran better than ANY other H/C N/A Vette down there and won all of there divisions.

To say thy shouldve MPH 126 in **** air is just plain stupid.

It shows u guys know NOTHING about weather...
Temps/Baro/Hum. play a BIG role in determing MPH

And they drove the cars to and from NJ....
What a bunch of ***** <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Up north where I'm originally from the Baro. can be as high as 30.5X and the humidity is also fairly lower than here in FL.

Just an FYI.

Oh, so when the Fl. Gang is with in 1 mph of their previous runs, and then the NJ guys are 3-4 off??

Mark didnt even hit tens from what I have read so far, and brent squeaked out a 10.99 at the end of the day? Cartek makes some BAD *** stuff, but its overrated by the NJ weather and tracks <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Lets see some timeslips and videos already!!!

JS there is no doubt that Cartek had the fastest C5's at this shootout.. However, the only tuners that showed up were running the same times they ran last year.. Not to knock the sponsor of the event. They have not impressed the locals EVER with their Vettes.. The local vette owners only come to the track when their is an event and most of them do not know how to drive.. I have to admit that most of the individual vette owners that I saw last year were running high 12's and 13's last year and now are running the upper 11's, but that was it. Very few of the vettes that ran had a H/C package and weight reduction.. Most were bone stock...

JS, you have the ***** to knock on others for questioning a setup? you resemble a donkey with blinders on. all you do is believe what the guys that takes your money tells you. get off my case bro. this comes from a guy that has switched out convertors and headers like they are going out of style only to have fun slower. 122 is still weak for the power they claim to have made. they were MUCH lighter than your car, more power, and making less mph. someone go calculate the DA for us please. i am sure it wasnt as bad as others think. i know all about DA my man. here in the midwest, i have run in +3900 feet DA in the summer. 11s are an accomplishment here! <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />

again i am not saying thier setups are bad, infact, they are badass, just dont seem to be backing up the mph numbers of 470 RWHP. they seem right in line of a normal head and cam package making 430-435 RWHP, even in average weather. their cars weight nothing close to a 3400+ lbs f-body.
