28 inch tire guys in Camaro Anyone get them to fit with no trimming/rubbing?
a true 28 (28x10 drag) if you remove the spring rubber, maybe some adjustable LCAs to center in dead center in the wheelwell... will they fit? Might go with the 28x9 if itll make it thru the traps like that

Im wondering the same thing, im looking right now at a MT ET street, 28x 11.5 15 its 27.5 tall, but the width may help a tad. i think they might fit, but they are not a "true" 28.

if you want to run a 28X10.5X15 i don't see any way to get that tire on without some dicking around. on most cars they will fit ok fender/bumper wise..but you're gonna have to do some work on the inside..like removeing the bump stops and possibly even doing some hammering..
on my car currently a that tire fits with just the bumpstops removed and ground down so nothing is sticking in towards the tire in the wheel well there. every car is diff it seems in terms of the bumper, fender, etc..

radials wont grow as much i dont think.

I run a 28x10.5 et drag and the only thing I did was hammer in the front of the inner wheel well a little. I have them mounted on 15x9.75 Bogart SS's and my lower control arms and panhard bar are all adjustable. I run the stock rear spring with the isolater removed and still have the bump stops in place.

Jeff that might be because you run bogarts..aren't those rims made so that you don't even have to grind the calipers down?
with a 15X10 prostar you have to grind until your caliper looks like a melted ice cube and you do have to take the bumpstops and what not off, never seen a 15X10 with a 28 that didn't have to have that done.

We design the Bogarts to be a direct fit with stock diameter tires...though usually fit fine with 27's.
There can be issues with running a 28 inch tire though, it depends on the manufacture of the tire. Hoosiers run a bit larger then ET's for the most part. It's not where we put the rim, it's just the overall tire diameter that can give an F-body trouble.
The trouble area is more in the bumpstop area and the bottom halves of the fender well. Picture the fender well as horseshoe-shaped...where the opening gets smaller is where it is an issue. This is where the adj LCA's come into play. The adj panhard rod helps the bumpstop issue...
We could move the wheel outward to prevent the problems with the bumpstop though the fender lip becomes an issue! Better modifying the bumpstop area and not seeing what you did vs. rolling the fender lip chancing the paint cracking!
The only sure fire way they fit is if we put the tire completly out of the wheel-well area...lol
Due to tolorance differences, some guys tires fit easier then others. It's really trial and error. 28 hoosiers run larger then MT so they are sometimes a bit more difficult. We have a hoosier 28x11.5 on our car, though it did take some work, they fit fine.

I run 28 x 10.5 S ET Drags. I had to hammer the inner fender wells, the fore lip of the well, and cut a little off the rear skirt. I also cut the bumper spacer off on the passenger's side. I do have adjustable LCAs & PHR that I used to center up the rear.
It wasn't anythind difficult or overwhelming. But it does seem that my Sawzall keeps getting closer and closer to my car.

Sean, that's why I didn't mind spending the extra money with Steve for the Bogarts. I did have to grind the front calipers a bit but only after I put new brake pads on.

28x10.5x15 ET Drag on a 15x10 will require some body clearancing here and there on every 4th gen. Should pretty much expect to have to bend down the bump stop and hammer in the inner fender up front in the front upper corner...like above where the rear seat would be. When in doubt mark the fenderwell with paint and check.

The Bogarts make it nice, they fit mycar mint!!
I just ordered my 28x11.5 x15" MT ET streets, they are 27.3 over all, so i will let you know how they fit and how they hook!

Might want to try the 9x28x15 ET drags on 15x8s first. If your tires are somewhat centered in the wheelwells they need nothing and hook surprisingly well. I had a best of 1.435 60' (sig pic) with them on stock shocks/springs - pretty good working little tire.
No comparison between the the 9" ET drags and the 10.5x27x15 ET streets on a crap track..

my buddies have stangs, they run the 28 11.5,s and the other runs a 12.5 et street, and there cars hook 1.3-1.4 all the time no matter what the day, hell i bet they would hook in the rain!!!!!! Im giving them a shot, im sure they will hook better then older 27" hoosiers.
