I've got a dozen or so passes with shorts from 1.52 to 1.62 with 28x10 Hoosiers on an 8" wheel with 4.11 gears in my M6. They do spin - I've never seen anything like a dead hook, and the shorts are worse if I bog it. I have not tried any others recently. I will probably try M&H next.
