Update on the car...Making progress :)
Well things are progressing nicely with the car <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Seat is ordered and should be here on Wednesday:
<img src="http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/images/forza_black.jpg" alt=" - " />
I fabbed up the mounting adapter plate for the seat and painted it black today. (Painted it the same color as the rollbar)
Thanks to Tom the Roofer for the tips on the adapter plate!
Installed my lightweight Rad overflow catchcan and removed that butt ugly black plastic POS from the front right corner. (Saves about 3-4 pounds and looks a lot nicer) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
<img src="http://www.insomniacsoundtrack.com/car/catchcan.jpg" alt=" - " />
Speed Inc lightweight carpet should be arriving this week and in the car by the weekend...(Went with black noncut Lightweight carpet)
My 15x7.5 Convo Pros and 26x8.5x15 ET drags (both used) should be here on Monday as well <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Here is a pic of the test fitting for the rollbar padding:
<img src="http://www.insomniacsoundtrack.com/car/rollbar_padding.jpg" alt=" - " />
Things are starting to come together <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Just need to pass emissions testing, get the carpet and seat in, pull some more weight out of the car and I'll be ready to rock!
April 5th (opening day for the track up here) Cant come soon enough!!

Re: Update on the car...Making progress :)
Thanks guys! I'll post more pics on Thursday when the seat is in and mounted <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I would love to go to that event but I am going to be on the beach in the Carribean that week. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
Are you guys having another event at Grand Bend this year? Are you heading up to any of the Toronto F-bod club events at St. Thomas?
Cheers,
Chris

That corbeau seat is pretty nice. I used one over weekend for drag racing (long story), and you feel very secure with that and a 5-point harness. However, I couldn't stand being strapped in for more than 30 minutes... killer on my lower back!

Re: Update on the car...Making progress :)
Well the Convo Pro's and ET Drags came today! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
Just need to get the rims screwed and the tires rebalanced and I am good to go.
What a BIG weight difference between these 26x8.5x15 ET drags/Convo Pro combo versus my stock rims with ET streets.
(fingers crossed) the carpet should be here tomorrow and the Corbeau seat here on Wednesday.
I should have complete interior pics by Thursday night if all goes well <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Update on the car...Making progress :)
What kind of paint did you use and where do you get the padding on the cage? Where do you also get the snap cover to cover the padding?
looks nice Chris!!!! <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Comfort for me is not a problem i have driven for over a hour and it didn't brother me one bit. only thing i do differant now is i have to slide the seat back when i enter/exit car. I'm planning to drive up to ARE this spirng with it so we'll see how comfortable it really is.

Re: Update on the car...Making progress :)
I used tremclad flat black rust paint. The padding is from Summit. I dont have the covers yet but they are from Summit as well. (Part numbers are in one of the posts above)
Hope this helps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: Update on the car...Making progress :)
Mounted the seat on the stock bracket last night and installed the inflatable lumbar support. So far things look pretty good. Going to install the carpet over the weekend and get the seat in. Might also rip out the dash and HVAC, airbags and radio while I am at it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> heheheh

Looks like things are moving along nicely. You don't need no stinking radio, AC, air bags, etc <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
