Default keep breaking stock TQ arms. pinion angle should be stock

the pinion angle should be stock as fair as i know i havent checked it. how well do the "beefier" tranny mount TQ arms work? i am launching at 5k+ and i hear a loud pop every single time, is that the tranny hitting the floorboard? it also does it when i downshift and nail it on the highway. what should i do about a TQ arm, i have duals right now and dont feel like buying a center mount(?) that welds to the subframs cause the exhaust is in the way. thanks for the help

Have you checked your transmission mount? it could be broken causing you to break your stock arm by letting the trans fly up on launch <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

anyone know anything about the BMR Bolt-in Torque Arm? if i get this and a poly trans mount will the tranny or TQ arm stop hitting the floorboard?

Are you actually breaking torque arms???? Or are you basing this on the "banging" noise you're hearing?

It sounds just like a broken tranny mount to me. Put a large prybar between the tranny and the crossmember, and see if the mount has separated...

I had the same prob. MY shifts all off a sudden became very jerky. It turns out (thanks to Speed Inc. for finding it) that my torque arm was twisted and was comming out of its mount. TOM IZZO over at speed said that i should get a torque are they did not bolt in to my trany.

SOOO i went with a SPOHN TORQUE ARM. One of my best investments. There torque arm bolts up to the body and not in to the trans. It was well worth the money.

You can weld a strip on the top and bottom where the holes are and reinforce this area that is what some of the top stock/ stock elim guys have done. I had the same problem when i had a stock t/a ripping out the holes.
