I can't weigh my fronts (they're on the car ) but the rear 15 x 9.75's with 28 x 10.5" ET Drags (stiff sidewall, no tubes) weigh ~37.5 lbs each according to my wife's bathroom scale (which is, of course, calibrated to the hundredth ).

I drove the car to San Antonio for the SBSO a couple weeks ago. Round trip on Bogarts.

In a recent conversation with a centerline rep, it was mentioned to me that the 8.5 rear convo's weigh approx 16-17 lbs each. This is the heaviest rim out of weld or Bogarts. Bogarts 8.25's come in at approx 10 lbs being the lightest while weld coming in second. Offhand, I'm not sure what a front convo pro rim weighs. I can tell you that the most P1 front bogarts come in at around 9 lbs.

There is no plans in the future to my knowlege of any rims utilizing a DOT stamp of approval. I think you will be hard pressed to find all true drag rims being street legal. To date, since the production of these rims for f-bodies no one has ever had a rim sent back for bending it from street use.

Billet caps are available. It may be plausable(though I have not measured) that other brand center-caps may be used also.

Thanks

My brother has convo pros on his Mustang,15x8.5's and before we mounted the tires the rim was 13 lbs by itself. After mounting a Nitto 275x50x15 it went up to 40 lbs. There was another mustang guy that had a 15x8 Bogart wheel with a 275x60 x15 and his were 44 lbs each but the 275x60 x15 is a bigger tire and he said without the tire it is 11 lbs for a 15x8 . The bogarts were lighter but Marginal. I will probably go with Bogarts unless I decide to just run the 15x7.5 convo pros with a 26x10.5 ET street.

So if I bend my bogart rim during street use, bogart will replace it, No Problem?

Aint Skeered,

I'm not going to debate wheel weights. My data was taken directly from centerlines rep. I am taking his word on the weights as I cannot verify the validity of them as I do not have a set to weigh. Maybe your friend was correct, even at 13 lbs, I believe its still the heaviest rim even over a 8 inch weld. Keep in mind rotational weight plays a large part in HP drivetrain losses.

One thing else to consider is not only the overall mass of the rim but the way the weight is distributed over the center-of-rotation of the rim. The more weight that is moved to the outer edge of the rim, the more the rotational losses. Umong other considerations, the Bogart rims are designed with this in mind.

Hoss,

I never intended my statement to say we guarantee the rim not to bend. It was a statement to show that our P1 rims are strong and to alleviate any concern that rims will bend on an F-body in a short period if they are used on the street.

As with any drag rim, care must be taken when using them on the street. Can you bend them? As with any drag rim, sure you can! We cannot guarantee a rim if one bends it. If one did bend a rim, we can repair the rims at a small cost so as it’s not at least a throw-away.

Regarding the center-caps, I have been trying to get a ditigal picture for some time. The caps look similar to the original caps (design wise)but look more "grand" as they are made from billet aluminum.

Rob, you have mail. If anyone else whom has emailed me regarding question/concerns/etc has not received a response, please let me know.

Steve

PS,
My comments regarding other wheels are not to bash or say that all others are terrible choices. I feel weld and centerline wheels are choices to consider. There are pluses and minuses of both rims. One has to be happy with what they choose. As long as they are happy, that is all that matters.

Steve,

Does Bogart make a 15"x6" that I can run on the front? I am not too keen on running a 4" wide rim on the street.

We can make a rim all the way up to 15x18!! in .5 inch increments:-)

What size front tire are you looking to use on the rim? Keep in mind, your larger tire will add extra weight. You can run a mickey thompson 1573 which has a stiffer sidewall and almost a 5 inch tread width on a 15x4 rim. The stiffer sidewall will react better on turns over a drag tire with no sidewall plys.

I just got my Bogarts from Kent Island Speed. He had the best price anywhere. Helps to save every penny you can.

The wheels look awesome! They are worth the money.

hmmm didn't see your post 99. For some reason the board didn't send an email stating there was a reply...shoot me an email and I’ll help you out.

The new pricing is taking effect now. Hopefully we took care of everyone that contacted us.

BTW price wise, we will NEVER be undersold...NOR will our very personalized service. I take a very personal interest in these lines. That is guaranteed. Unless someone is giving them away from making a buy in if they are a new dealer, or have a set that was sitting around and they wanted to get rid of them, we will BEAT every F-body rim price you find...I guarantee it. We won't compete with vendors whom we deal with.

Brent,

I personally try to help everyone the best that I can and usually go out of my way so that they are completly satisfied.

You emailed me at 8:30pm last night. I responded at 11:30pm. We close at 5pm but I usually respond to emails on my personal home computer. I will paraphrase your email as it appears you may be confused as to what you originally asked for. You stated "I needed a price on bolted RT's..."and "how long would it take till I get them if I ordered tomorrow".

My statment to you was that new prices were being implemented tomorrow if you wanted to order at that time...

I haven't heard back from you if you were still interested until now.

I wish we could have helped you out to save you a few dollars before the price increase...I would never want to push someone away. This is why I made this post originally for as soon as I caught wind of a new price scale, I wanted everyone whom was considering the rims to act as soon as possible as their time was limited.

I asked for that. In return you sent this.
New pricings are being implemented tomorrow and will are being updated in the system. Please bear with us as we are making all necessary changes. Currently there is about a 4-5 week wait period on rims. I will try to have your personalized estimate ready and sent out by late afternoon tomorrow.

Thanks for your interest!

and in return I sent this

I want to buy before the price increase!

and in return I got nothing back from you.
