need suggestions
ran my z28 today to a best of 12.40@109mph w/ a 1.79 60ft on 275/60 DRs and skinnies up front. Weather was decent mid 80s temp.. JNorris was there and was kind enough to ride along w/ me and scan it. My average rpm through the 1/4 was 5100 & he said his is usually 5800. I had 4 inital kr but then it kept spikeing up after each shift and pulling timing. Jnorris suggested it could be a broken motor mount confusing the computer when it shifts. I just figured i could run a lot better numbers and mph w/ 388rwhp. Norris is supposed to post and better explain the scan. Anyone got any suggestions as to what is wrong? Thanks for the input cuz im still somewhat stupid bout this stuff.

Ryan,
The point I was trying to make about the average RPM in the ¼ was that I feel like that cam is making most of its power higher in the RPM band and that you will need a bigger stall (4000) so you’re motor will be in the power band longer. Peak power will not win races. Keeping your motor in the RPM range that makes good power through out the ¼ will. My average RPM in the ¼ is high because of the 3.73 gears and the TCI 4000 stall converter.
I think your 4* of KR is caused by a bad transmission or motor mount. Something is bumping and causing the KR to spike and then fall off.
There was nothing else in the EFILive scan that looked out of place. I think your car runs good.
How do other cars with similar mods run?

i know peak power isnt everything, i just figured futral( not saying its their fault cuz they rock!) had the right combo w/ the verter and cam so i was just expecting more. my bad man i misunderstood you, im still new to all this. Im gettin 3.73s next week to see if that helps and prolly go w/ a higher stall verter in the near future. Thanks alot for the help at the track today, i really appreciate it.

No problem.
You can have that Vig3200 re-stalled to a 3600 and that would really wake things up.
Maybe someone will post up some suggestions.
Did you see that blown and N2O Viper run? He was trapping 133+. If he could 60 better he would be all in those 10s.

When I trapped 109, I ran a 12.01 with a 1.71 60'. I was stock internal with a TCS 4200, Hoosiers, and an estimated 3200 raceweight.
