M6 bogging revisited
#41
I'm no currently a m6 but I have never heard on a mildly modded car to dump the clutch at 5k+, most that do that seem to have the dreaded "bog". From what I have heard and read most guys lightly ride the clutch off from 3-4k and can keep from blowing the tires off while doing this. Just because you can still hook with sticky tires at 5k dumps don't mean it's gonna work.

nittos are better then street tires but still no match to hold this kind of traction

Im sick and peverted. I think your post is funny. When you say " he is launching like he is on full slicks". Man, maybe its jus that Im tired or thats the redneck in me.
On a serious note, I think Im gonna quit launching like that before I tear the 10 bolt all the way the hell up. Its already swapping sides on me. It aint gonna work anyway so I will let'em spin a little. Im gonna put 4.10's in the 10 bolt before long even though I know its not gonna last just because when I eventually get to where Im making well over 400hp at the wheels Im gonna dump it on slicks at the rev limiter and break it. If it doesnt break on the 1st hit then I will hotlap it until it lets go. I get some sort of thrill out of destruction. I have always enjoyed seeing my property as well as others get torn up.

full-force, you really dont know the history, stfu. I showed what an *** I am... online.... in a FORUM... my life is ruined.
You really shouldn't launch like that on a 10 bolt. It's going to rip it to pieces, if that already hasn't started. Good luck.

I have a very similar problem. And it feels like traction controll. Although mine only does it under very hard straight line acceleration or under hard acceleration in corners. This happens on the street. I verified that I am loosing fuel psi at the rail. The car has a full tank of gas and I have not yet changed the filter yet. When it does this it will buck ( fuel on / off / on / off / on ). The car has a M6 and this happens well below the rev limiter.
Has anyone seen or heard of this. I cant imagine an intermittant fuel pump only under accel. But I suppose it is possible there could be a wiring problem under unibody stress.

The problem is in the gearing. The Fbody T56 has a 2.66 first gear. When combined with the 3.42 gears in the stock rear the car while bog when it hooks. A little wheel spin will keep it from bogging down. With just a few mods the car does not have the power with the 2.66/3.42 combo to get off the line. Even with H/C and 4.10 gears I will still bog if I leave less that 6000 rpm and dead hook. The reason the Mustangs can get off the line with not a lot of rear gear is the first gear in the T5 is somewhere in the low 3.X (don't remember of the top of my head) The Z06 version of the T56 has the 2.95 first gear and does not have as much problem with the bog.
It's all is the first gear
With 3.42 gears in the rear, stock clutch and less than ~350 rwhp it's going to be tough to get less than a 1.8 '60. Until I went to the 4.10 gears in my 10 bolt I could not crack a 1.7 '60 to save my life. After the 4.10s it went down to 1.70-1.73 with the stock clutch.
