Default QA1/Hal has a new stiffer spring that is much more streetable for us daily drivers!

I just got off the phone with QA1 and they said that the springs normally sold in their fbody coil over kit are really meant for track only or weekend warrior cars that don't see much street use, and a newer much more streetable spring that debuted at SEMA will be in their newest catalog. The downside is a slight loss of weight transfer over the softer springs, but these are still supposed to transfer the weight a heck of a lot better than the stock springs.

It's part #fb300. It runs $57.99 at retail I believe.

What caught me off guard was the guy I talked to in tech (Dave) said he hadn't heard of Fbodies having issues with leaking front shocks, and said he cruises this board fairly frequently.

Shoot me if this was a repost.

Did he give you the spring rate? 350# would be nice....and 400-450# would be better IMO.

Not to post jack, but are people blowing the "R"`s or the standard HAL`s? And are these springs intended for the "R"`s or standard HALs?

Sweet! I'm running stock springs in all 4 corners, regular Hals out back, and R series in the fronts. I never swapped to the Hal springs because Ive heard too many people having issues with blowing their shocks because the springs were so soft. I hardly ever drive the car, but I still wouldnt want to chance it and ruin a pair of $400 shocks. So are these new springs softer than stockers yet stiffer than the original ones? If indeed it does help with the weight transfer for better 60 fts. and times, and isnt too soft where I run the risk of blowing a shock, then I'd really be interested in buying them.

Has anyone else heard about these? Anyone tried them out yet? Are they available to buy? If not, when? Springs and a drag bar is the only thing that I lack as far as suspension goes. I have a pretty beefy sway bar, but wouldnt consider it a drag bar.

Mine are fine plus I run without the front swaybar. I keep the HALS on 7-8 up front for driving on the street. It bottomed out when the fron was dropped 2-1/2" so I raised if up and inch. Never had any problems though and I ran it that low for a year.

My R-series were leaking after maybe a thousand or two miles of daily driving.

I tend to drive my car every once in a while on the street, but only around town. Are the R series not meant for street use? I thought the Hals were the best strip/street shock out there. I certainly dont wanna ruin these shocks because I paid a lot of money for them.

OK I took a year off and missed some thing. I talked to HAL about revalving My front shocks so they did not unload the rear of the car so much and they said I should wait till I get the car ready and get them a front wieght.

What are the "R"s? Springs or shocks. mine are about three years old and not leaking. I use four to six on the street(Depending on how my back feels) with long tubes. car is about 3/4 inch lower then stock.

I would not mind a better spring and revalved shock

Default QA1 Shock setup

Has anyone setup these front & back shocks for street driving??? I have been trying differrent settings but I still feel like a bobble head while driving on the street or highway. I have a 98 WS6 TA. Any help with the front and back settings would be great.
