Front runners VS radials vw tire?
Anyone know the weight difference between the 2? Debating on swappin out my 165R15's for a set of 26" front runners. Is it worth the swap?
I mainly just want a taller tire to raise the front a little more, but was curious about the overall advantage.

From what I've read..VW tires range from 14lb-18lb a piece depending on how many ply's are used. A Mosoro DS-2 is 10lbs, so you lose around 10lbs total of the front by swapping. Added bonuses are that it's rotational weight and swapping to a front runner over a radial helps stability on the big end.
I myself am leaning towards swapping to a set of DS-2's for the fact that they are the cheapest and lightest outta the group
My car doesn't really see that many street miles anymore so the wear amount doesn't really bother me much.

yes, they are the lightest, and cheapest, proving that the "you get what you pay for" theory isn't always the case. like badass2002z28 said, they provide a lot more stability when running an et street or et drag type tire. you have to match the front and rear tires, radial and radial, or slick and front runner.
