The big issue is keeping it NHRA legal while doing so. Close attention to the contours of the interior paneling is the key. The rear passenger(s) would still for sure have to duck under or climb over the section that crosses that area. I'm working on something now, but it won't be complete for a while.

sounds interesting, just not sure about the bar going across, would something like this be nhra legal? If that cross bar would be angled from the top of one side to the bottom of the other? that way the passengers could get in on one side.

Think about the result of any crash with a passenger in the rear seat. The first thing they will meet is a steel bar. Not a good thing. I won't put the rear seat in with the roll bar. But I have 3 kids, this is my opinion.

i have the removable bar, and while not legal in the nhra/ihra rulebook i have not had a single negative comment at any of the 5 tracks i raced at last year.
my drivers door bar is also removable.. they are both out during the week.
