Your track has the option of abiding by NHRA rules for it's test and tune session or not. But if NHRA were in town and you wanted to race during one of their events, you would need a sealed battery box if there was no bulkhead between the driver and the battery. It depends what you plan to run, legally by 2005 NHRA rules you DO need a sealed box for ANY relocated battery with no firewall.

Very clean! Looks very similar to the setup that Baxter had. Was considering that myself, but had little motivation at the time to make it work. Excellent job.
EDIT: Well I guess that it explains it, looks like you have Baxter's old car! Always liked that setup.
