1. remove wipers
2. remove platic cowl cover
3. unbolt wiper pivots
4. use large screw driver to seperate wiper linkage ball joints
5. remove linkages and wiper pivots
6. unbolt wiper motor and remove

I never thought about wiper motors. What did they weigh approximately?

Ha. "Whatever I feel like doing. GOD!"

Put it this way: As soon as you witness how large the whole assembly is, you can't help buy say "Damn, that's awesome!" Definitely a mod worth doing.

I will take it to get it weighed today and let you know tommorow or later today. The scale I am going to weigh it on is the one that the dealership uses to weigh items for shipping it only weighs in .5 lbs increments but its pretty accurate.

I was talking about the motor itself, which is about 3lbs. I just removed it this weekend. I didn't weigh it since there is already a weight reduction thread with it listed in this very section. It says 3 pounds as well.

thanks for the responses. Yeah, when you go to work, you might as well wieght it all, I mean, no one is going to take there motor out and leave everything else.....well they might just for looks but the mod should be wieghed w/ everthing. That way we have a good idea.

And 12lbs...seems worth it to me. More than my A-Arms took off....but they sure look cool

not saying all of it for sure. I'm sure some is on the money, but I'm not sure about some of those wieghts on that post...some of them seem a little far fetched. Like the metal to plastic gas tank swap...18lbs... I'm not sure abou that one.

anyway, keep us posted when you wieght them at work.

The bulk of the weight from the package seems to come from the wipers themselves. I was suprised how much those things weigh.

Ok I got the weights here goes

2.5 lbs. wiper blades and arms only
3.5 lbs. all the motor brackets etc. only
4.5 lbs. wiper motor only
Total
10.5 lbs. wiper blades and arms, wiper motor, all the brackets etc.

Here are some more I got from some other redution I did at the same time.

Door parts
14.5 both door bars
5.5 both brackets at the rear of the door that the door bar attaches to
1.5 both door insullation + clear plastic dust covers under the door panel
3.5 I cut all the fiberglass out of both doors that I could with a dremel and a hole saw so I got a total of 3.5 lbs out of the doors.
<.5 speaker holder brackets

Front Bumper Parts
3.5 this is for the black metal bracket just in front of the hood catch and the fiberglass piece that attaches between that bracket and the front bumper that has hood adjusters on it.

So I lost around 40 lbs. yesterday
