Not fun is it? I did mine on launch though. We are very lucky it happened when ours did!

Damn....and I thought my local track was out in a farm field. Yours has corn within arms reach!

That's probably why. The stock wheels have oversize holes for the studs that allow the stud to bend just like having a big thick spacer on there. I like aftermarket rims better that have shank type lugs.

I think the compressor tightens them much more than the 4 way. Two months ago, me and a neighbor had a HELL of a time taking the wheels off after the tire shop mounted them.
Your shop should be using a torque stick on the gun to properly torque your lug nuts-if they're not-they are running the risk of damaging the studs (from over tightening them). Most techs are too lazy to bother with the torque sticks, so bother them about it

You should always torque your wheels. Otherwise you can warp your rotors. I was told never to impact them.

Can't explain what happened, I was only on my drag radials and only making motor passes, so it wasn't a power issue for sure! Sucks.
7/16 or 5/8 studs?

Most likely 12mmX1.5-2.5" Just shy of 1/2"

I believe Moser uses the stock sized studs when you buy the rear end specifically for 93-02 F-Bodies.

I ordered 5/8" studs from Moser in the 9-inch Ford for my 01 SS. I can't remember if stock is 12mm or 7/16".

I thought you were answering the question of "Has anyone had a problem with that?"

And your reply ment to me that you had broken both.
It was funny to me

No, we've never broken any size stud in any type of car, but it does happen occassionally, so we just use 5/8" studs and worry about other problems.

Stock 12mm should be torqued to 75-85 lbs.
