Okay, it's the day the 50 are announced. I still haven't heard any news (not really expecting to, but hoping). If you got picked, post up!

thanks, we're looking forward to winning it...
John, send all the stickers you want, just staple them to $100 bills so they won't get misplaced.

damn i wish my car was ready!!! what kind of time do you think it's gonna take to win? does the win still go to the driver with the lowest 3 run avg.? and is it still 93 octane? can't wait to hear the results.
thanks,
Dave
ps.....does anyone have a link to the rules as far as chassis combo's and drivetrain limitations? just trying to get an idea if the plan i have laid out in my sig below is acceptable rule wise.
thanks,
Dave

I'll say a low to mid 9 second average to win. You'll probably see a few 8 second passes this year, but consistently? Doubt it. Still goes to the lowest 3 run average, and still 93 octane.
Check out www.hotrod.com for rules and such. I'll say already that 10 cars won't finish and some claimed "9 second cars" won't get out of the 10s. And a few will get "claimed" on the cruise.
Good luck to all that made it!

Good luck to those of you who go. Brady, you have a truly badass car. It would be sweet to see it go down the track. I'll be in AL later this year for a race. I might have to get in touch to check that thing out.

Thrilled to be a part of this event. Can't believe I'm, the only LS1 f-body in the field though, looks like my work is cut out for me
with my winter mods I should be a contender for sure but who knows we'll see. It's gonna take a 8 sec average to win this unless everyone breaks

I know of at least two cars on that list that should run an 8.xx average. Should be fun.
Brady, I'll be in the stands w/ a big sign that says "McNew RULES!!"

They averaged the times right? Seems like track prep was iffy on some of the later runs. I heard that John Cunningham was doing great until he spun like crazy on one of his passes. I thought the best average was a low mid 9's.

I am honored that Hot Rod Magazine selected my 2000 C5 to represent the late model Corvette community. I will be curious to see 8 sec cars run on 93 octane or better yet see how the track holds 1000+ HP cars running DOT tires. Last year for most of the cars each run got progressively slower. My setup is pretty consistant so with some good DA hopefully I can log in 3 runs in the 9.5 to 9.6 range. I switched to a 12.5" ET Street to minimize any tire spin. WISH ME LUCK!
