spare tire rim as skinny rim?
Can you use a spare tire rim as a skinny with a different tire on it? Or is it just too heavy?
I was moving some stuff around in the garage and got a thought?

I wieghed the spare for somebody and it was around 28lbs or so. I still wouldn't run on them though. I picked up my Prostars, tires, spacers, and lugs for $350 off ebay. With the Prostars you'll need a 5/16" spacer to clear the calipers. You really should get some ARP studs too, I have some but never got around to installing them. You'll also probrably have to run an open lug nut with you regular wheels and longer studs or maybe you can find an extra long acorn style lug.

Some of the '94-'95 Cobra guys use spares for skinnies since no standard skinny fits their brakes. I wouldn't do it though, especially when you can get a set of draglites with 165r15's for cheap.

yep, get some real front wheels. Mustang guys used to use spares for a while back in the days, until race organizations found out and outlawed them from being used.
