Installed Grant steering wheel today
Now to my wife, nothing without air conditioning is considered a street car...
*OT* Cover of PHR Feb Issue (same one with Tonys Camaro) has 7sec "RACE" cars running on the street, are they street or race? Hmmm.....

This thread is about steering wheels, not race cars, but since we're on that topic, IMO, if a car is licensable and is or can be driven on the street, I believe it is a "street car." On the otherhand, a car like my tube chassis Firebird is definitely a race car, with no chance of ever seeing the street.

youre right, its about steering wheels, not race cars, so why did you go down that path? why bring up what your beleifes are and what you think is safe/ok (not just YOU but everyone else doing the same thing). This is like the thread i got regarding me removing my bumper supports. now do you think john has a bumper support with his intercooler? im sure he doesnt! lets go off topic and talk about saftey issues concering that too! point made.
wheel looks great john, makes me wanna get one with 2 buttons for my transbrake and line lock. however id get the quick remove hub just cause its so freakin cool, its like as redneck as you can get. nascar style...granted F1 cars have em, and they aren't rednecks, but you get the general idea.

Very occationally I drive my car on the street and if I get pulled over or get a ticket, its not going to be for a non stock steering wheel. It would be for rattling the police cruiser's windows as I drive by from the exhaust dumped at the axel. Perhaps the lack of tread on the Goodyear tires or maybe because I run 110 leaded fuel with no cats in California? The car is certainly NOT street legal as I'm sure 1000's of cars on this board are not technically street legal. We can still call them street cars because we drive them on the street sometimes, but if you put more miles on the car at the race track than you do around town, wouldn't that be a race car? It doesn't matter if the car was once your daily driver.
If the car is a daily driver and it taken to the track a few times a year, it is a street car. If the car's primary purpose is for racing, it is a race car.

That's my wheel and hub (along w/ the sexy green chair I bought for $5).
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
a guy that lives next to a cousin of mine was trying to pull a stump his 96 GMC. it wouldn't come out, so he got alot of slack in the chain and gunned it. when the chain got tight, the airbag went off. i don't see any problem with no airbags in a somewhat street car if the car has some need for it, ie the car is sub 11s, or in road race applications
AND LETS NOT FORGET EVERYONE CARS DIDNT HAVE AIR BAGS UNTIL RECENTLY INFACT LOTS OF OLD CARS DIDNT HAVE SEAT BELTS AND PEOPLE DO NOT ADD THEM AFTER THE FACT BECAUSE THEY KEEP THE CAR ORIGINAL AND NO ONE DOGS THEM. NO ONE SAYS OMG PUT BELTS AND AIR BAGS IN YOUR NUMBER MATCHING STOCK 1953 VETTE. EVERYONE GO GET A LIFE. PLZ.
