You could hole-saw the crap out of that second layer of metal. Same with this area of the fenders: http://www.w2wpowertrain.com/showgal...=21&slideidx=3
Anywho...if I were building a race car and I were going with aftermarket wheels, brakes, and k-member, I'd get that Billingsley setup with the AJE-style K-member, no upper a-arms, and spindle-mount brakes/Welds. Awesome.
Good luck on the project for sure. I'm sure you guys will pull another 100lbs out of her at least.
