Default What to do to break 11's? POLL!

Well i just put a ford 9" in my carand it killed abut 20 rwhp and i can't decide what do it to break 11's.. my best time with street tires and stock weight was a 12.4 at 109.. that was with a 1.73 60 ft.. But to break 11's i think i have a few choices.. so i am taking a poll to see what people think it will take.. Thanks

then you will have consistent 11's, not just a one time thing. Plus you won't have to beat your car as much to get it to run 11's.

You already have that 9" on there, so keep it and never worry about launching hard on your A4 ever again. Put those draglites and shocks on there. See where you're at then. After that, you'll determine how much more power you'll need, then power your way to 11's. Too many choices in your poll.

Refresh my memory...did the 2000's come with an LS6 intake?
And is this car tuned?

no but i have an intake on there and its tuned.. Yea i think i am going to start off with running the draglites and QA1's up front.. Then after that i think i'm going to try to put an ASP pulley on then see what happens.. and if i'm not happy.. Go with some heads..

But what kind of heads could i get for a decent price? i don't really want to spend $1500.. Get ported and polished 5.3's? thanks for replying guys!

Also what kind of time improvements do most people see from a set of heads? and also for just putting some skinnies on the front with some suspension? I heard the pulley is good for 1-1.5 tenths.. but has anyone done back to back times with heads or QA1's and skinnies? Thanks for any help guys

Well if you going to stay NA I would add a bigger stall converter and some slicks.
You would be running 11's in no time.
I am sure Vig would restall your converter cheep or free and get yourself a nice set of slicks.
I ran 11.7's all day long with a 226/228 cam and a 3800 stall from Yank.
My 60 ft times were 1.55-1.58.

As far as the pully goes, I dont think it would make a HUGE difference on your current setup, but every bit counts.

1500 bucks is about the least you want to spend on heads brand new.
You can go cheeper but the results wont be as good.

Heads, any budget set of decent performing heads, should help you cut at least 3 tenths and increase at least 3-5mph. They will push you into 11s.

I dont know why you dont already run 11's. My calculations say that you robably run 7.90's in the 1/8 which for a stalled auto with a cam is a lil off.

yea i think if i still had my stock 10 bolt.. I would be able to break 11's.. but i already run a 7.93 in the 1/8 ET at 87 mph.. But i am thinking of getting my TC restalled to a 3600-3800 vig.. and that would def get my 60 ft times down to a 1.5-1.6 range.. But i think i might go with heads and a pulley and do them at the same time.. and work on getting a restall.. then run with QA1's and draglites.. I think with Cam/heads/pulley/ suspensio/3600-3800 stall.. I'd be well into the 11's.. Any other thoughts or better ideas? Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate it

3600 -3800 stall? are you going to spray it? if your not going to spray it i recomend atleast a 4400. i got a 5300 in mine and it should run 10's in the 1/4 (7.05 @95) stock heads stock cam.
The BEST mod i ever did to my car is weight reduction. i went from an M6 424 rwhp running 7.30s to a A3 345 rwhp now running 7.00's.its amazing what losing 500 lbs will do to ya!

a 4400 stall seems really high.. does anyone else have a stall 4000+ and do you daily drive with it? i put a lot of miles on my car.. so i don't want anything too crazy.. and i have 3.73 gears too.. what size stal do you guys think i should run? and how streetable is it? Thanks

i could tell you how to get close to 10's on motor. BUT,i told you to have kirk tune your car but you went to that **** pot for a tune(pat told me your tuning problems)you don't listen so i see no point to help with your car. your 9'' is good for around .2 loss at the most. pat is damn close to 11's with little mods, better then i ran with the mods he has.i only went 12.1's with all boltons and a 222 cam. i'm near 10's now on motor and you have seen my car,not gutted, stock weight. the juce should push me close to 9's. goodluck to ya.

Put on the wheels, Shocks. Buy a set of 26x10.5x15 slicks. Pull out the seats(pass, & rear), spare tire/Jack and any junk you have in the car. Dude!!!! You will be in the 11's for sure.

yea thats what i am going to try.. the suspension, rims, and get rid of unneccesary weight and see what happens.. and prob get pulley and heads after that!

and as for my tuning mike.. everything is actually pretty close to being dead on.. the air fuel is almost perfect through my RPM's.. It isn't out of tune that bad at all.. and as for kirk.. theywent out of business so he would be no help to me now...But i think my car is extremely heavy and gets a lot of drivetrain loss for sure! I lost 20 rwhp from the 9" on the dyno.. Its not that i don't listen to what you recommend.. its just that i'm not made of money! I work at a freakin pizza place! haha.. I think with a set of heads, pulley, higher stall, suspension, and rims.. i could break into the mid 11's no problem on stock weight! your car runs awesome! but how high are you launching that thing and how much money do you have into it? i'm just a cheap *** lol.. Let me know what ya think of my plans with heads, pulley, rims, and suspension.. later man
