6k clutch dump...

But that requires slicks, gears, 12 bolt/9 inch, suspension, chassis, and power mods to make work.

It would help if we knew your mods, and if you're talking a basic street launch or a launch at the drag strip.

Depending on the surface you're on, right around 2000rpm with some very mild feathering should get you the best launch. You'll have to practice to find the right amount of wheel spin because there is no chance in hell that you'll fully hook and take off.

from idle- ride clutch at 60% throttle until you get traction - mash the go pedal and lift slightly when you shift. If you dump the clutch and go 100% throttle you will probaly take out the timing lights and get ejected from the track.
Let off gas when rear-end goes boom and try not to hit the person in the next lane.....

I hate to do this...... but i assume you are asking for at the track?

if so....

drive around the water box(under NO circumstances should ANYONE on street tires burnout in the water box, so STAY OUT!!! sorry pet peev)
once around it back up to just in front of it, and spin your tires for 1-2 secs... note i did not say burnout... your doing this just to clean your tires off , not to heat them up...
pull up to the staging lights and find the groove(that is the slightly impressed lines on the asphalt that the bigboys have left) this is the stickiest part of the track.
stage ONE light at a time (this means dont pull up real fast and light both staging lights, it pisses the other driver off and is bad form)

once staged bring your rpms up to 2000-2500 rpms(this part varys from track to track)

forget the lights dropping... if you are asking this question then dont worry about your reaction time... it will just *** up your launch technic...( you can work on your reaction time after you master your launch)

when you are ready, perform a CLUTCH ROLL... this is quickly pulling your leg off the clutch(not side steping it which is known as a dump) at about the same speed as your left leg is coming up, send your right foot for the floorboard. practice practice practice.... doing this everytime you will find your cars sweet spot....

run about 20 PSI on street tires

this netted me a 1.90 60' on bone stock tires

BE SURE TO AVOID THIS...YOUR FRONT TIRES PICK UP WATER (SINCE THEY ARE NOT SKINNIES) AND YOUR BACK ONES FOLLOW, IN WATER, THEREFORE MAKING IT EASIER TO LOSE TRACTION...JUST MY OPINION, HAVE ARGUED IT BEFORE, JUST TRY IT AND IF IT DON'T WORK DO IT YOUR WAY THEN...

i get a kick out of guys in the water box with street tires, that slings all that water in the wheel well and drips it right back down on the tires on take off, plus it stays in the tread some

And the 60' times of the guy behind you. All you will do is wet the track for the next few cars. This is why I hate getting behind the FWD crowd at the track.

As for launching an M6, it takes a lot of practice. Each car is different. I would start at 1500 RPM and work up from there. If you spin back down, if you bog step up. Street tires are a pain to launch with. Just practice.

I never thought about this. It probably wouldn't be that bad on a sunny/hot day but at night (when we usually race) it could stay down for a few minutes huh?
