Default What is the fastest rod bolts, rings, and bearings car?

This whole thing is so ridiculous. Someone explain to me how rod bolts, bearings, and rings increase performance? Just curious. Not taking sides here, but I think it is all pretty humorous.

If you change the rings and bearings, woudn't you also hone the cylinders and turn the crank? Maybe even surface the block just a little? What if you played with different kinds of rings or balanced the rotating assembly? Might be that you end up with a ringer!!

You wont find any lighter tension rings hen what these come with stock, why do you think the hone still shows up fin on 100K motors - some kind of space age cast iron liner that never wears Ask the guys that use a quart of oil every 2000 miles if they want lighter rings

Sure you can do a nicer balance job then stock, sure you can loosen up the bearing clearances a little, sure you square everything up and 'blueprint' it. But I cant see how that will help as much as 1.8 rockers, stronger valve springs, milled 241 heads with very nice valve jobs,LSX intakes etc and no one seems to bitch about that.

Rod bolts and bearings have nothing to do with HP but there is definately power to be had in the rings.

The point is, if you move the line away from "if it touches oil, you can't touch it", you are on a slippery slope. OK, allow rod bolts. Then why not allow bearings. Course, I might have to balance it if I change bearings. As mentioned, rings can add power, as can blueprinting with all stock componenets. I could drop the oil pressure to get some free horsepower. And on it goes. Each one of you who want to move that line want to move it to where you need it and no further. Like I said in the other thread, open the rules up and I could drop the record a half second.

at any rate.... lsx intakes touch oil.... pull of ur intake after u drive ur car and tell me there is no oil?? so i guess silenty but violent owns the si record with the stock ls1 intake on his 98 z28 correct?
