Default Spohn T/A Alignment Problem

Had this in handling, but most of what this stuff is concerning more drag racers might have dealt with....

Pieces: Spohn Tranny mount torque arm, Yank Torque arm relocation crossmember, 9" rear

Obviously i read the instructions and used the correct holes for the 9" rear.

i got the torque arm bolt in the rear hole of the rear end/torque arm. the problem is the front hole. it's not aligned correctly. it seems to be because the relocation crossmember pushes it off to the side too much and won't work. now i could unbolt the crossmember and then move it over so the other bolt fits in, then try and get a couple of friends to "stretch" the front of it over to align again, but isn't that putting too much stress on the torque arm from side to side?

would i be better off filing out the holes in the torque arm to rear end mount so that the bolts fit?
