Default BMR K member vs AJE K member (solid mounts and header clearence)

There are currently no options for a solid motor mount with my BMR K member and I do not yet want to run a motorplate. With my BMR K member my 1 7/8 - 2" headers are so close that they will hit as soon as the car is fired up.

My question is this:

Will the AJE K member with solid mounts provide more clearence than a BMR K Member for headers? With solid mounts I don't think there will be an issue with the headers hitting anything........I can also get the AJE K member with a pinto rack which would be nice as I have no PS.

What part of the k-member do they contact? Do you have pictures? Have you tried using a BFH?

I had 2 BMR K-members and 2 sets of 1 7/8 headers in 2 different cars and both had to be chopped up to work. The 'box' that the rear of the lower control arm attaches to is way too big and has to be trimmed quite a bit plus beating in a header tube.

The PA k-member I have on this car has a ton of room all around them and the 1 7/8 kooks just fall in and out.

Cant help you on the AJE though..

Conrad, the AJE is a much nicer piece of work. Give me a call and I'll tell you how to do the solid motor mounts.

Thanks Derty I'll give you a calll......the AJE K member looks a lot better for my app......seems to provide a bit more space under there which will be better for future plans

i've got a PA k-member w/solid mounts. My 1 7/8" -> 2" Kooks have tons of room around them.
