Default Fitted my W's today

because everyone that ive seen with w's had talked so much about the cutting and clearancing to fit even with stock fat brake rotors i went ahead and got a set of 6.5 backspace rims to go with my ultra thin strange rotors and they fit easily, honestly, just by looking on the inside of the fenders i have enough room to probably get away with a 7.5 backspace but it would be tight, but i dont think it would rubb. ima run with the rims i have till i have time to swap them over and try the 7.5's that my old slicks are on. i guess the massive beating and clearancing i did for the 325 radials was enought for the w's because it looks like the radials are actuall wider than the w's, just not as tall
ima try the new combo tomorrow night and see what happens

I'm a little confused by the 'thin' Strange brake rotors comment. I had to use the spacers to space the bearings out and the width of the spacer + the strange rotor thickness was the same as the thickness of the stock rotor so nothing changed here with the Strange brakes.

well, all i can say is that i have to run spacers on my radials now and with the stock brakes i could barley get by without them

did you have to use spacers behind the bearings with yours? I was concerned about the thinner rotors as well since my 28s were pretty close on the inside with the stock rotor but I measured the thickness of the spacer and the thickness of the strange rotor and it was exactly the thickness of the stock rotor. Dont know if that was by design or just the way it turned out though

Dude, grow a sack and put on some 30x15x15 ET Drags on the car..

Only little girls run 28x10.5W's..

I'm gonna run monster truck tires on my car per madman's recomendation.

Edit:

Rodney, I found the tire you should be running on summit.. 32.00 x 14.50-15

You can thank me later.

my gears would have to be like 6.40's or something so tinny it would break on every launch

mine wouldn't fit without some cutting (on a 7.5 BS rim)...I didn't have to go as extensive as I did...but I felt safer than sorry. You need room for when the tires wrinkle and flex left to right some IMHO

yea, i already did some cutting to the inside bottom corners and on the inside fenders where the humps are in the metal and stuff, so i probably would have been ok

Is the rearend housing narrower than stock? I would swear that 6.5/stock housing length sticks out past the body.

it sticks out a tad lookin at it, ima try my other rims when i get a chance and see how it fits with them, i hate wasting that open space between the tire and the fender

PSJ,
Here's a 26x10 ET Drag on a 15x10 with 6.5" bs. The rim is about even with the outside of the quarter panel on a stock housing length. A 10.5W probably only sticks out 1/2" past that.
