Default Hoosier 28x10.0-15 DO5 or 28x10.5-15 DO7?

I'm due for some more drag slicks. I'm running 10" Welds on the rear and have a full adjustable suspension so I need the tire that will hold the car as in "STICK solid". I have had excellent results with the Hoosiers and I previously ran the 28x10.00-15 DO5 compound. They worked quite well, but that was before a few addition HP power adders and good air. We have layed down some 1.42s in the 3480# F-body and I want the most traction capable tire, so I'll be ready when the good air gets here. The 10.5 has the harder DO7 compound and the 10.00 tire has the softer DO5. The 10.5 also has a .3" wider tread compared to the 10.00 tire. Has anyone had any experience with these two or an opinion as to the capabilities of them. The price is insignificant between the two.

"Ya can't win if you can't hook".

TIA!

Whats up my little drag racing friend? I use the D07 compound slicks. They seem to work well. 60 foots in the 1.3's.

Thanks for the reply Coach. Well if you can stick with them , then I should be able to.

I still want to borrow the larger tires from you to see if they will clear the wheel wells. I hope to see ya soon!

I would sacrifice the .3" and go with the softer compound. Just my .02

Also, you could give Hoosier a call and see what they recommend.

I've been told by various class racers that the harder compound tires are better for manual cars and transbrake cars. They "react" to the dump a little better. Anyone else know about this?

That's news to me. I understand the stiff sidewall (which is what I use) but a harder compound? I don't see how that would help.

I know the tires that have a stiffer sidewall are designed for the standard and T-Brake cars. I'm not sure about the harder compound tires.

I'd like to know about that as well.
