Default People with Alston torque arm, please read...

Any of you had any problems with it? Anyone ever broken it or damaged the tunnel where it mounts? Yes I did a search, and one guy said that he was hearing of people ripping the tunnel with this torque arm, but I've never seen/heard/read of anyone having trouble with it.

I have one ready to go on my car in a few weeks and I just want to be sure it'll be worth it before I start to drill into the body of my car. I have true duals, and I wanted to take the arm off of the transmission, so my options are a little limited. Thanks!

Is the Alston considered to be the lightest and strongest piece out there? I was going to get away from my Spohn with front driveshaft loop because its so heavy. Does the Alston have an integrated driveshaft loop? If not, how does it compare in weight with one compared to the Spohn one? I'm looking for something lighter yet strong too, thanks.

I don't think it's especially light, I think it is mild steel.

They might be able to do that for you, ask Mike Ruth. See if FLP carries their stuff.

It doesnt have to have an integrated DS loop, but if it will allow me to run a seperate one, then that'll be fine. I was just looking for something lighter. I dont know the exact weight of mine. Its chromoly though.

Mine is at a friend's house right now, but when I get a chance I'll weigh it and let you know how much it weighs.

Actually, you can probably shoot an email to one of the FLP guys and they should be able to tell you the weight, thn you can compare it to yours. It's not exeptionally light though, since its mild steel like PSJ mentioned.

I'd have to take mine off too to weigh it, but its no problem as I have no rear end right now. I'm sure someone out there has done the research, who makes the lightest yet strongest torque arm out there? If the Alston is any heavier than mine, I'll just stick to what I have unless someone knows of the lightest/strongest.
