WOT, the subframes are welded, the silicone is just to make sure everything is sealed. I don't like doing burnouts and having to open my doors to vent out the smoke.

Jeramy, I went with Aerospace brakes because I already had a set in my garage.

Jason, the rearend is narrowed 2" on each side. This allows me to run a 15x10 wheel with a 5.5" backspace, looks nice with a deep dish on the rear and the axle is lighter too.

Jon, I'm in Project Management in the subsea oil/gas industry, with an degree in Mechanical Engineering. I also co-own this site.

Looks good! Did you decide not to do another 1st gen car? BTW, is that the old QMP car?

I bought the next '69 Camaro last weekend. I'll be working on it as well. Click on my signature photo to see it.

Yes, this is the old QMP car, hence the name "Project Censored"

Ah, sorry, my bad. Thought parts of it looked familiar.

I'm disappointed you didn't go with an old firebird......everyone has a 67-69 camaro. I'm sure it'll be sweet though if it resembles your old car at all.

Cool, appreciate the reply. The attached pic below is from Wolfe's website, and shows the "halo bar" (the one that goes along the top of the door opening) hanging down into the door opening a good bit, and in your pics, as best as I can tell, that bar tucks up higher and doesn't hang down so far into the door, is that the case, or is yours as low as in Wolfe's pic? Is the whole cage as Wolfe sent it, or did Madman "adjust" or "customize" any of it? Sorry for all the questions, I am contemplating buying a Wolfe rollcage, and am VERY picky about stuff like this. Thanks, Shawn

I modified the cage. I like all my stuff tight to the body.

Well, that sucks. I don't have the $$$ for a $3000 rollcage, but I don't want my car looking like the rollcage was bent for another car.

Back to the drawing board.

By his cage and modify. I just raised the bar up and welded it.

Very nice, good looking work. I like the "customized" cage setup aswell.

Just to make sure I understand this... A cage like that is legal to 7.50 for 3 years, as long as it is certified by dec 31. If you want to be cert to 7.50 after 3 years, you will need to add funny car cage. If you were to get that cage certified in Jan 06 you would only get cert to 8.50, and would need the funnycar cage for 7.50.

Sound right?

Did you re-bend the bar any, or just angle it up higher on the main hoop? If you angled it up, didn't that move the bottom (where the front down bars go to the floor) also?

Maybe better pics (picture angle not quality) will show better what I'm asking.

All you need is the cage welded out.

On moving the bar its how you notch it. as to where it ends up.

Mine was the same way. Tech said as long as I was adding on to an existing bar it was grandfathered for three years. Building a new one would have gotten the 8.50 sticker.

parts + labor = $$

Looking at over $20K in parts/labor just from that list above....just in chassis/suspension/drivetrain.

still have to spend on the engine, turbo system, wheels/tires, fuel system, engine management system, cosmetics, etc...
