Default anyone know how to mod an A4 shifter?

Running a TH400 and i have been shifting real easy on the stock shifter into the next gear. There is nothing that stops me from going from first to neutral. I have heard that there is some Moding you can do to make it stop in every gear. Anyone ever done this? What is involved?

Thanks!

You could use the B&M Gate Plate design to work with the OEM stock shifter. It is part number 81070 and any sponsors should be able to get it if they are B&M Distributors.

I thought some one posted about using a th400 with the stock shifter? I wanted to say it was done 2-3 years ago. Something about cutting/welding a stop point on there for only 3 gears instead of all 4?

That will only work if you have the reverse shift pattern.
Check the Transmission forum and click on the thread at the top of the page.

The only other thing that you could do is put a swing latch over place where you want the shifter to stop and that way you could swing it out of the way when you want to shift the car back up to park.
