TTT for that. I'm interested too. How much weight savings is involved with that?

No light weight fan. still got the stockers. i figure with me being on the highway at 3600 rpm for almost an hour at a time and the huge non lock up stall i need all the cooling i can get the car and tranny get VERY hot but not to where it hurts anything. if i go over about 75mph for a long while it does start to over heat a little. might do a lightweight fan after i move closer to my job and don't do as much highway driving. And i'm defionatly geting an electric water pump too!
the over flow tank is about between 2-3 lb saving i would guess. i just bought this one and used my stock hose.

Yeah i know what you mean i used to weigh 230 lbs but since i put my car on a diet i too got slim all the way down to 180 lbs. hey thats 50 lbs of dead weight. i gained back 10lb up to 190 lbs so now i'm shooting for 170 lbs.

mine should be around 2780 right now without me in it. i figure take out my extra Kirkey, carpet, panels, dash, horn, windshield wipers/motor i could strip it down close to your weight for a day at the track. but i'm too lazy to do all that.

Do you really think its 2-3 lbs. savings? Not doubting you, but I figured the stock one had to be around a pound or so. Its made of plastic.

Yeah the stock is kinda heavy and the summit one is VERY light.
I just remembered i didn't swap mine out for weight savings. My stock one had a crack in it and every time i launched it spiled some coolant out. So i ordered the cheapest one from summit and it just happen to be quite a bit lighter than the stocker.

just an update.
i've pulled a few more miscilaneous brackets out and with me (200 lbs) in the car it sits at 2960. i pulled my passenger kirkey, passanger seat harness, glove box, rear deck divider thingy, Tech2 and race jacket out of the car at the LS1tech showdown in San Antonio and tipped the scales at 2895 with my 30 lb lighter jockey friend in it.
BTW also finallly got around to taking some pics of my swiss cheesing i did to the front frame and the spot where i cut of the front bumper support brackets.

Yeah it won't hold u too good if i hit someone. but i don't plan on hitting anyone. thats the only reason i'm hesitant to do the same thing to the back of the car. i can't control someone rear ending me.

well i belive most if not all of the other fastest cars are trailered race cars. mine is the only TRUE daily driver, i believe. I do roll around on 31" all terain tires on the back to keep my RPM's a little lower. i had to butcher my rear fender openings for them to fit. but it brought my rpm's down from 3600 rpm at 60 mph (with stock sized tires) to 3000 rpms at 60 mph (with the 31's). It looks red neck as **** but hey it gets me to work and back AND it actually gets 20 mpg on the highway. And i do almost ALL highway driving to and from work, about 90 miles a day.
As for the 5000 stall it REALLY is nowhere near as bad as you think. ESPECIALLY with a super light car. I put in a 2800 stall (while mine was getting restalled)and only noticed a 500 rpm difference while taking off from lights (2,000 rpm compared to 2500 rpm) at regular cruising speed.
the big rear gear and no overdrive is what gets you, hense my 31" tires. Around town its very bareable but on the highway it REALLY sux. although with my all terrains i got it to where its liveable. The absolute highest i cruise at is 70 mph (3500 rpm's) to keep up with traffic on my way to work. Whenb i get off around midnight theres no one on the highway so i do about 55 mph (2750 rpms).
heres a pic of my meats!

Get a RX7. Mine is about 2725 #'s daily driven w/o driver and I'm about 155.

Of course there are drawbacks of a less drag friendly rear suspension/axle and it's harder to make most parts fit (headers for example).

Mine is a full interior car with all the emissions, 4L60E w/ deep pan, power sunroof, power windows/locks, bumper supports, stock cats/shorty headers, and a full exhaust out back and all the bumper supports and a factory hood.

That is a good way to get a Fbody down in weight. I did almost the same thing with a camaro I had but I didn't buy any of the lightweight parts like the k-member or brakes or tq arm.

An LS1 w/T56 in an RX7 would make an AWESOME road car for the twisties.
But i'm stuck on going straight.

Thats what i think too, but i am more paranoic about getting rear ended, i left the rear bumper support on...

BTW: The daily driven wheel stance looks NICE
