Default Which Hoosiers are most running 10.5x28 or 10x28?

Which is most guys running? They are pretty close in size overall except the 10x28 is the softer compound. I have been running the 10.5x28 ET drags lately (3055) but am looking to try a hoosier.

Kev,

My old Hoosiers were 28 x 10.5 and I had good success with them (1.36). Not sure that you'd see any real difference from the ET drags though?

Probably not, there is main Hoosier warehouse close by and its just easier to get the Hoosiers around here. Plus if the circumference is way of from each other like the last 2 sets of ET drags I can get them swapped right away with no hassle..

I just picked up a set of 28x10x15 Hoosier slicks yesterday, I will be trying them this weekend for the 1st time... I had good luck with Hoosier's QTP 27x10.5x15 and the slicks are a full 1" wider and taller...

LOVE my 28x11.5 QTP's

1.4s in the 6speed with a stock torque arm, and back into the 1.4's footbraking a TH350 w/ 3.50 rear. They hook HARD on the street too. Lasted me a full season of freeway driving and a large number of track passes/burnouts. Seriously have about 600-700 miles of street use on them and they aren't showing any kinds of slowing me down.

heh, I had a couple new 11.5x28 QTPs here that I was going to use for street driving, it was kinda late in the year to buy a new set of 'real' slicks so I mounted them up a couple days ago. I figure I went 10.20s on narrower 11.5x28 ET streets (only 8.6" wide) earlier in the year so I may be able to squeak some 9s in with the QTPs on a good track - we'll see They do hook hard on the street though, with like 18psi it hardly spins from a dead stop if I nail it so I'm curious to see what happens at the track with them.

They do for me... at the track with decent prep i've never had a problem hooking. we will see off the transbrake at the end of october though. probably have another 200 miles on them then, haha.

I prefer Hoosiers over M/T slicks. The stiffer sidewall on the Hoosiers sure do feel more stable on the top end of the track. I had 28x10.5s on my old Formula, it would cut 1.4s no problem with 3650 lbs. I had 28x10 on my '69 and they worked well too.

Right now my silver Formula is sitting on 28x10s with my old Pro Stars from the '69, there is plenty of clearance room with those tires on it.

I just put on the 28x10x15 Hoosier slicks on Saturday night and hit the track on Sunday... it was a tight fit but there was no rubbing at 135MPH... We did some trimming to the rear bumber and the BFH mod

Not much different that the QTP, but I think the slicks will work better at a track with less prep...

We'll see saturday, I'll probably take a ride to BG (good prep usually) and see how these QTPs do. They sure hook pretty damn good on the street thats for sure
