Default lugs for prostars

Can you use reg. lug nuts on prostars, or do you need the special lug nuts that, go into the wheel itself, I am running 3.25 arp wheel studs, and they stick out enough to use reg, chrome acorn lug nuts, is that fint to use or no.

Don't think it'd be very safe to run the Prostars with acorn lugs; with the bolt holes as big as they are, I'd think you'd need to run the long shank lugs to center the wheel on the studs

So your saying your using 3.25" wheel studs with closed end lug nuts???
If so that a big no no..... FYI at the track they want to see thread contact and the only ones allowed are open ended lugs nuts.... and that a good idea on the street if thats what your doing since what you think might be tight is just the lug bottoming out on the stud and is not really tight at all.

Yes, you need the shank lugs, and open ended, or most closed ended will pop the cap off...ask me how I know

Never raced at 66, but I've not had problems at Cordova, Byron, GLD, or US41 with closed end lugs. I've heard 66's tech is quite a bit stricter though (which is why I've not raced there )
