I took mine off, Its right behind the front air damn. When I took mine off, and all hardware that is included, I lost 16lbs. The only thing I noticed when I took mine off, is that the steering wheel is just a little looser.

Will it hurt on the street? Do you need any aftermarket or extra pieces to remove it? Is it fine for daily driving or long trips?

Sorry, but you cannot remove it easily. It is welded to the front subframe of the car.

Actually, it IMHO it makes cornering silly. Don't even try it. Every corner should be 20 MPH under the recomended speed limit.

Ah..... NO! maybe its different on your lt1. But on the ls1's you remove the sway bar links (easier to cut, they get rusty as hell). Then there are (2) bushing brackets, that you remove the 2 bolts out and then the sway bar will drop.

As far as not being safe. I don't know about running normal wheels and tires, since I run front skinnies, but as far as cornering, i still corner without a problem. I did not notice anything while cornering, just while on the highway the steering is alittle looser. But I don't regret it at all.

Its a tradeoff: cornering ability definitely goes down, but you can feel the car has better weight transfer on a launch. My daily driver has no front swaybar and I have no intentions on putting it back, but if I didn't drag race the car I would have definitely left it on.

Same on my LTx car. Mine fell off a long time ago. 6 bolts total if I remember correctly.
