Default Quick transbrake question...

So to get into reverse, I have to put the shifter into the reverse position and hit the transbrake button? I have heard you can put it into neutral as well and do the same thing?

Depends on the valve body, I just have to hit my reverse lockout.

Depends on the valvebody as it was stated. Some, like my Rossler TH400 have a reverse gate and it actually goes into gear without the button. Others, like Harlans glide from Hutch you have a reverse gate, but you have to hold the transbrake to get reverse to engage.

I know on mine, I have to have it in neutral, and press the button.

I have a Rossler T-brake in my glide. I had my choice of a sportsman (goes into reverse gear when put into the reverse location) or a pro T-brake (put it in the reverse gear location and pressing the t-brake button is required. I have the pro.

Wire it up with a secondary toggle switch....tons easier than holding the button. Try backing up, while turning, and still holding the 'brake button on the steering wheel. MAJOR PITA.
FYI, mine doesn't go into reverse unless the trans is in "R". It's a Tranzking vb.

I just talked to the guys at PTC and they said I have to have it in neutral and hit the t-brake. Whats the point of even having a reverse position in the linkage then? So that brings me to the next question...


What kind of amperage do these t-brake solenoids pull? Should I wire it through a relay, on its own cirtuit...?

i know the coan big dog th400 i have if you put it in reverse it will burn the trans up you have to put it in neutral and hold the button.
