Default What PSI for ET Streets??

Last night I went to the track and am knocking on 11s. I ran a new best of 12.02@115 with a 1.77 60 foot. I was running 18 PSI in the Et Streets and wonder what would be a good setting next time I hit the track? Also does anyone know who makes a good line lock?

Check out M/T's web site. It tells you where to start with what tire/car weight etc.
With that being said, you didn't mention what size tire you are running.
I run a 26 x10.5 x15, my car weighs 3300lbs, so there web site suggest 16 psi and up.
I have run them at 19.5 psi and as low as 12psi. I dropped the pressure this low cause I was at a shitty hooking track. It worked and I pulled the wheels but I also pulled the wheels at 19.5 at a good hooking track. I cut between 1.64-1.68 60's with a 4000 stall and 3.23's
Keep adding a 1/2 psi until it stops hooking. Try to keep the tire temp within 25* of track temp. A huge burnout wastes the tires and won't necessarily make them hook any better.
good luck

i like to go from 16 psi and work my way down. i never go below 13 psi personally. these numbers are cold btw. they heat up about 2 degrees after the burnout. watch out as they get wiggly up on the top end. price you pay for the traction.

The other night I ran mine at 14 psi and they were hooking very well.

11.5 x 15 et streets on a 10" rim on my stock weight car...13.5 psi worked the best for me.

I like 12.5 psi, car is a little "boaty" in the traps.

Both the Hurst "Roll Control" and the SLP linelock kit are good.

Thanks for the advice I need to check out some lower pressures my next track trip. I know I can do better than a 1.77 60 with Et Streets I just need more practice.

so much will depend on the weight youre putting on the rear tires. you need to just play with them and find a pressue that works good for you.

my car is full weight and running them that low didnt work as well. i could also tell when i did a burnout on the street they would leave a patch that showed a lot darker on the edges and not in the middle. i inflated till the burnout patch looked even.

I never go below 14psi. If I cannot hook at this pressure the track needs to be prepped better.
Even at 14psi my car will feel loose and will be hard to keep straight.

+1 JNorris. i never go low like some of these guys. if the track cant hold the tire at under 14 psi, then its not safe for me. just how i feel. for a while i ran n/a and was going 1.53-1.55 average with 27" et streets at 20 psi! it hooked and mph'ed just how i wanted.

a lot has to do with track prep and weight of the vehicle. my raceweight is about 3,550, and i have a 28" m.t. drag radial. i have stock shocks ang springs, and i have cut consistant low 1.5x 60' times w/ 19 psi and a relatively short burnout.
